bbp
I am interested in seeing what people think. Maybe keep track of who gets the most correct at the playoffs end? Personally I'm going to go with gutys calls. VAN-LA (LA in 7) - Quick steals the show, Daniel isn't the same, Carter's return sparks Richards. (This pick is for fun cause i'm in VAN) STL-SJ (STL in 4) - STL cruises PHX-CHI (PHX in 6) - Crawford/Emery collapse. If Toews doesn't return they are done. NAS-DET (NAS in 7) - Each game very close. Detroit's road woes will be a serious problem. The lost in 7 to SJ. NAS is better. NYR-OTT (OTT in 6) - Gaborik fails/NYR offense dies. Anderson/Spezza/Alfy goes on fire and steals the series. BOS-WAS (WAS in 6) - With the pressure off Washington this year, they explode offensively. They chase Timmy out, Rask wins a few. FLA-NJ (NJ in 4) - Could be pushed to 6 if Clemmenson comes in, if they ride Theo they will be swept. PIT-PHI (PHI in 7) - This series is a complete toss up. I just don't like Pittsburgh. HIGH SCORING. haha those are my picks! Woo!
Habsfan84
VAN-LA (Van in 6) - Not their time to go out yet. STL-SJ (SJ in 6) - STL too inexperienced. Maybe its time for San Jose to do something when their not expected to. PHX-CHI (Chi in 6) - Smith runs out of gas. NAS-DET (DET in 7) - Each game very close. Too much offense on Detroit. NYR-OTT (NYR in 5) - Ott shows they overachieved. BOS-WAS (WAS in 7) - Close series that Ovie proves himself FLA-NJ (NJ in 5) - Pretty easy pick PIT-PHI (PIT in 6) - Phillie gets Malkin and Crosby mad and motivated
JoeLassister
VAN-LA (Vancouver in 6) - I can see Van going far again this year. STL-SJ (St-Louis in 6) - Strong goaltending will be the key. PHX-CHI (Phoenix in 6) - Chicago would need a 100% healthy Toews, which won't happen. NAS-DET (Nashville in 7) - I picture Nasville in Conference finals. Detroit will be their first victim. NYR-OTT (New-York Rangers in 5) - Goaltending. Nuff said. BOS-WAS (Boston in 5) - Goaltending. Nuff said. FLA-NJ (New Jersey in 4) - A team on a roll vs a team that should be 8th seed. See ya Florida. PIT-PHI (Pittsburgh in 7) - Easily the most entertaining series that could be.

And yeah it should be pretty entertaining Oh and why not, San Jose over St Louis. There's always an upset and SJ has some quality vets. bbp
I'd like to point out that I called LA, PHI, and NAS winning their series, they all took the right first step by winning game one! ohhh yeahhh!

Vancouver in 6 San Jose in 7 Nashville in 6 Phoenix in 7 NYR in 6 Was in 7 NJ in 5 Pitts in 7 It doesn't look too good for some of my picks
bbp
Scoring: 1 point for winner, 1 extra point if you guessed the correct number of games as well. bbp
My round two picks.... Last time went with upsets and came out on top so... STL-LA (LA in 6) - Hab esque run time! PHO-NAS (NAS in 4) - Yes Smith has been amazing... but Phoenix won't score this round. (need to pick a sweep in at least one series). WAS-NYR (WAS in 7) - I'm not a fan of the Rangers and Washington knocked off Boston so all the power to em! PHI-NJ (NJ in 6) - I called NJ winning the cup at the start of the playoffs... as much as I think Philly will win.. gotta hold true to my original prediction. I actually have no faith in these picks. Crazy tight playoffs. The StL-LA series will be legit.
sakiqc
LA in 4 NSH in 5 NYR in 6 PHI in
Machine of Loving Grace
St. Louis in 6 Nashville in 7 Washington in 7 New Jersey in 7 This is going to be one of the tightest playoff years ever. Even naming those four I don't know who I'd consider to be the better team. This is the first salary cap playoff where it really does feel like a crapshoot. JoeLassister
Went 5/8 in round one. Not so bad... Round 2 : STL-LA (STL in 6) - I don't think that Eliott is done yet. PHO-NAS (NAS in 6) - I see the Preds in the SC finals. WAS-NYR (NYR in 6) - Not sure why I chose NYR, but I think it will be an interesting series. PHI-NJ (PHI in 5) - FIREPOWER !!! xXx..CK..xXx
Just noticed this thread for the first time as well unfortunately. I went 6/8 in the first round... Had NYR, Boston, Philly and New Jersey in the east and St. Louis, Nashville, Chicago and Los Angeles in the west. As for Round 2... NYR in 7 (Picked them to win the cup prior to playoffs so I won't go against them now...though I did have Washington out after round 1) Philly in 6 (Best team left in my mind) Los Angeles in 6 (Living in LA now and love the way the team is playing) Nashville in 7 (Picked them to make the finals before the playoffs started) As for my pre-playoff bracket, here it is. bbp
My predictions... NJ-NYR = NJ in 6. I have them going all the way. A lot more experience and depth on NJ then on Ottawa and Washington. 3rd times a charm betting against NY! LA-PHO = LA in 4. I have called a sweep every time so why not continue! LA has been rolling and they will roll over the poor dogs.
