  1. Today
  2. 5th seems too high and unlikley to last past Calgary at 9th.
  3. In your opinion, how high is too hifh for Tij Iginla ? Rumor has him rising fast. If he even has half of his father grit and leadership, I would definitely love to get a Galagher Deluxe.
  4. It seems to be a clot in his leg according to Seravelli.
  5. Maybe. That was based on a google translate of an article and SKA coach throwing cold water on it today. Still seems to be a negotiation to get out of his contract.
  6. Guhle has always played a big player’s game. As Habs in Edmonton points out, Guhle can get away with that in junior at 190lbs but he can’t against most of the NHL. The guy desperately needs muscle and I expect the coaching staff already has him on that path. I think our coaches are excellent at working on areas of player’s weaknesses.
  7. Even at the world championships, Guhle has been rocked by several big hits, seems his self preservation awareness still could use improvement, or injuries will follow him.
  8. Would Tyler Myers be a good comparable to Silayev?
  9. Slaf with nice shootout goal.
  10. Seems another year in Europe might be best, but wonder how he will look at training camp? The Question That Should Be Asked About Oliver Kapanen – HabsWorld.net And Engstrom still a work in progress. Grading Adam Engström’s 2023-24 season (habseyesontheprize.com) "Yes, the sophomore defenceman faced tough matchups, but still needs to be generally better in the defensive zone when it comes to reads and decision-making."... ..."However, concentration lapses remain an issue. Rögle wanted to exit the zone with control and speed during the post-season, but this led to several occasions where Engström, holding the puck along the boards, threw it into the middle of the ice and turned it over to the opposition."
  11. Is there any word anywhere on whether it's a blood clot somewhere, or a problem with his blood not clotting? From the way it's phrased, I suspect the latter, but I couldn't find any details.
  12. Yikes. Terrible news for Van, and terrible timing. I hope Boeser is OK though.
  13. That's unfortunate. Hopefully it's short term as they will really need him should they get past Edmonton and have to play Dallas.
  14. Yesterday
  15. What a blow to Vancouver Boeser is out for game 7 with blood clotting issues.
  16. Vancouver with two lines in the top 5. Pettersson line may not be scoring a whole bunch but they aren’t allowing goals when they are on the ice. Winnipeg with one line at #20 and they get scored on more than they score. I think I understand why they didn’t win.
  17. I agree with your points. Playoff goalies can’t have bad games or the team loses. I will say Vancouver looked thrown off by trying to line match or at least that was my impression - that will be better at home in game 7 though. I didn’t think they were as tight or ruthless in their zone.
  18. I totally get cheering for the team that has never won the cup. With no Hab team to cheer for I definitely cheer for the Oilers in big part because there is such a fun vibe in the city while the Oilers are still playing. I also have great respect for McDavid. The only Canadian teams I heartily cheer against are the Leafs, the Leafs and also the Leafs and sometimes Ottawa.
  19. One thing I notice is that, when playoff goalies have a mediocre outing, everyone says they “weren’t to blame” for the loss. The exact same was said about Skinner earlier in the series. And in one sense, that’s largely true - after all, the Canucks only scored one goal last night and it’s never fair to expect your G to pitch a shutout. However, a goalie who lets in a couple of dodgy ones affects the entire complexion of the game, and in a close series, you can’t have a goalie have an off night and expect to win. Silov has to be better. Last time he had a dubious outing, Game One, he bounced back strong. Since I’m pulling for the Canucks, I hope this happens again.
  20. I don’t hate or dislike Edmonton so I don’t care too much. It would be nice for Vancouver to win a cup though. The Canadian team I hate is Calgary. This grudge goes back to 1989 cup finals. That dirty, cabbage eating, moustache faced asshat Lanny McDonald. Leafs, jets, Sens are also pieces of crap but Calgary can piss off into the sun.
  21. I don't think there is much more he can do. He gives 100% every shift, he back checks, doesn't whine and complain, doesn't care about personal stats, he just wants to win the cup.
