  2. Florida deserved to win last night and Trouba getting punched in the face at the end of the third was funny. Right in front of the ref and the ref just shrugged his shoulders. I guess that’s what they call karma but it sure looks like simple reffing incompetence to me. Trouba is a complete ass but the refs are useless
  3. It's fanatical, but my hatred of Kreider for the 2014 Price injury is so deep, that I will forever hate the Rangers
  4. what a terrible period for the Rangers. They are fortunate the score isn’t much worse. Florida was absolutely dominant

  6. For the second straight year, Owen Beck was named to the OHL's Third All-Star team. (The two centres ahead of him were Dalibor Dvorsky and Calum Ritchie.) https://chl.ca/ohl/article/ohl-announces-2023-24-all-star-and-all-rookie-teams/
  7. I think Dobes would be serviceable if needed for a short stint as an NHL backup. But how much do you want your young goalie to just be sitting on the bench as a recall to cover for injury? It's much more ideal to have a Louis Domingue-type option (he's signed with the Rangers for next year already, just giving an example) that can play once every five or six games if need be while allowing Dobes to get the bulk of the workload in Laval.
  8. It's in the article. But, as usual, it's a stylistic comparison, not a prediction that he will end up at the same level as Bourque or Anderson. The point is, though, even if Anderson were to score 20+ goals next season, it'll basically be a solo effort, he doesn't really complement his linemates. And, stylistically, that is not great.
  9. Injuries. I don't get to make the pick but I really don't expect Hughes to pick Lindstrom.
  10. The #CBJ make it official: Don Waddell has been hired as president of hockey operations, general manager and alternate governor. Good luck Columbus!
  11. Ahahhahaha, I really should avoid posting before my morning coffee. As you were…
  12. I don't have access to the article so is Rene Bourque\Josh Anderson his comparison or yours? To put that comparison is perspective, Josh Anderson's best year in junior was 27 goals in 54 games when he was 19. Lindstrom scored 27 goals in 32 games as a 17 year old! Not even close. Rene Bourque never played major junior so maybe harder to compare but his best year in college was 19 goals in 40 goals, he did score 27 a couple times in the NHL. I just don't get that comparison, it's meaningless to me.
  13. Why, what was the first or other reason? He is a centre, x-large, can skate well, is physical and scored lots last year, so is lots to like. THW 2024 Mock NHL Draft Round 1: Our Writers Make Their Picks - The Hockey Writers - - NHL News, Analysis & More 5. Montreal Canadiens: Cayden Lindstrom, C, Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) THW Writer: Trege Wilson The Canadiens’ management seems to like size and skill, and Lindstrom is the best player for both qualities. He had wrist surgery, which held him back this season, and he rehabbed a back injury that could raise questions, but for all intents and purposes, he seems healthy and ready to go. 14. Paying him $10.5m and Price cant even pronounce 1 f'in name!
  15. And that's another reason why I think Hughes will pass on Lindstrom.
  16. Top 15 cap hits for next season according to Capfriendly. Leafs are spending a bunch; 1. A Matthews (TOR) - $13.25M 2. N MacKinnon (COL) - $12.6M 3. C McDavid (EDM) - $12.5M 4. 18. As he noted, he dosent really expect Lindstrom to be a top line player, due to low hockey-IQ. More likely a Rene Bourque/Josh Anderson-type and not a Lindros/Getzlaf-type, is his big concern i guess. Sennecke over Demidov seems wrong also, but what do i know.
  19. Not just size--Catton is sixth and Lindstrom is well down the list.
  20. I think it's just another indication of how unpredictable this draft will be after Celebrini.
  21. Bob McKenzie had him 6th (mid-season), i guess after the combine will see if moves up in Mackenzie's scout poll ranking. But, I get the impression Pronman tends to like size moreso than his co-writer Wheeler.
  22. Last time we had the #5 pick, we chose David Reinbacher...
  23. Demidov at 8? That's by far the lowest I have seen him ranked.
  24. I don’t know about organizational depth…but in terms of the NHL level, as this article says, we’re in solid shape, although it is an interesting question who will be #3 in the event that one of Monty or Primeau goes down for any length of time. Dobes certainly doesn’t sound like a serious candidate. Hey, last time we had the #5 pick we chose a goalie…maybe just maybe - ?!? 🤪🤪🤪
