  1. Conceptually I get it ... but he is a LD ... that is the position at which the Habs have multiple prospects who should be challenging for positions the next two years ... I think he has played the odd game as a RD but not certain he would be helpful in the role on a regular basis.
  2. Wonder if he will join The Rocket ... he will in order to get paid, but unlike Paquette, who is 28, the 34 yr-old Perreault ***might*** see this as the end of his career ... however, he strikes me as a player who might possibly go into coaching and could ***perhaps*** go down in a player/apprentice-coach sort of role.
  3. But with the fabulous Inter-web you can remain a resident of Habsworld.
  4. I agree it is good that he is having the opportunity to play "loose", not be worried about every little(or big) mistake, and show his best self ... but I too would trade him ... Hughes did say he liked him but only said he is not calling teams to try to trade Kulak, but it someone blows him away with an offer he would be open to a deal ... which is what a GM has to say to maximize player value (whatever value that may be) ... but he is honest enough to say they will trade Petry if a deal can be worked out because it is an "open secret" Jeff wants out ... clearly his enjoying playing under MSL has not changed that ... OR ... Hughes just doesn't want a player who seemed to quit on his coach and teammates.
  5. Does the Metro have a frequent traveller rewards program?
  6. Can never have enough "balls" in the "goaltender lottery".
  7. True ... but for a sweep or to take it to the limit and giving them hope, only to see it stuffed out in a Game 7 trouncing and shatter Leafs' fans hearts?
  8. We don't know how well Price will play ... his last four regular seasons have been Sv% of .900; .918; .909 and .901 ... and how long will a knee that took six months to rehab from a surgery the is usually takes far, far less time will last ... he is past whatever malady for which he went into treatment; hopefully that is a positive.
  9. Unless you are the Edmonton Oilers (3 in a row, 4 in 6 years) ... even with the rules then in place it was odds defying.
  10. Yup ... several years likely until we know if he can cut it.
  11. Like the 2023 first, especially unprotected.
  12. Ty Smilanic Forward -- shoots L Born Jan 20 2002 -- Denver, CO[20 yrs. ago] Height 6.01 -- Weight 177 [185 cm/80 kg] Drafted by Florida Panthers- round 3 #74 overall 2020 NHL Entry DrafTy Smilanic
  13. "I need to thank all my teammates. Without them, I wouldn't have made it this far."
  14. OR ... the really did want York and went to their next preference when he went off the board ... we will never know ... and even if they did want York all along, obviously now everyone involved would now say it was CC all the way ... with all the blame teams get for their legit draft mistakes few GMs/scouts would ever admit to a mistake that they were saved from making. BTW - the talk I call was in the draft review/analysis ... I don't watch drafts from start to finish ... I pop in and out and only tune in when the Habs will be selecting.
  15. The unknown is ... do H&G have confidence in Dvorak, in Evans' health (also, he has 1g/5a in 15 games since February 1st) and in Poehling's "potential" going forward?
  16. If I recall correctly, the "talk" at the time was that TT et al wanted to take Cam York but Philly grabbed him just before the Habs, so they moved on to CC.
  17. But if they are the playoffs they ***COULD*** be a team nobody wants to play
  18. Pacs and Stone have each missed 30-ish games (Stone still counting) ... and ... GOALTENDING ... Lehner is at .909, his backup Boisvert is .895 and the last resort Thompson is at .890.
  19. A belated comment on retiring "Lapointe's number" ... let us recall that #5 had been retired in 2006 but for Boom-Boom Geoffrion.
  20. I recall talk that the dressing room was split between the two Ks and management decided to not "side" with either of them but rather remake to team.
  21. Poehling is pushing Poehling into the "trade bin" ... or perhaps the "no offer sheet" bin Pushing Pitlick/Evans into the 3C/4C roles is ideal ... but Poehling will be a throw-in- in any trade ... IMO, at the moment his greatest value in a trade would be freeing up a contract slot
  22. Mutually assured destruction ... it has worked well in nuclear terms ... at least until Putin ... now I'm not as certain
  23. OR ... KK's agent has proof that this was all part of the original offer sheet negotiation and The Blowhards didn't want it released to the NHL. 😈 It will be interesting to see what they do with UFA's Niederreiter and Trocheck.
