  1. Once. again ... well spoken young men ... this seems to be a pattern.
  2. Marino is a podcast talking head ... left TSN690 to join BPM91.9Sports with Jean-Charles Lavoie ... didn't last long ... seems to have a few decent contacts but I-M-O his hockey knowledge trails far behind anyone on TSN690 and most of the frequent posters on this site ... his massive and undeserved EGO demands that he try to place himself "in the picture" for these interviews ... so I would take any opinion he offers with so many grains of salt that your blood pressure will be a serious problem.
  3. That 72 point season was a true outlier ... almost 40% above his next best. Domi had decent production in Chicago last season (18goals/60games) but only had 2g in 20gms after being traded to Dallas (8/82 pace) ... same story as the previous year when he scored 2 in 19 after being traded to Carolina (although he had been no better with CBJ) ... so it may not be a question of talent but it is a question of production.
  4. For the moment they are OK as teams can be 10% over the cap in the off-season ... only have to cap compliant to play their first game.
  5. Agreed ... but if he EARNS a promotion by his play in Laval that is great.
  6. No surprise that they don't understand there are two sides to the defence corps.
  7. Of the last four years, only 2 have been 82 game seasons ... 59 of 69 games, 44/57, 74/82 and 48/82 ... he only missed significant time last season ... if it carries over to this season it might indicate a concern ... otherwise I don't think "injury prone" is in any way fair.
  8. Cheap veteran leadership would be like picking up a 4th liner to mentor Slafkovsky ... and if your injury concerns are legit then I doubt NHL GMs are going to give the Habs a "big return".
  9. All very well spoken young men.
  10. Most GMs are ... Brendan Gallagher says ten "Marc Bergevins" every day in appreciation of his contract.
  11. He has at least one more year at Boston University ... more time-for/focus-on off-ice training than in junior.
  12. Hopefully that will be in a normal cap world ... I think Savard is gone after 24/25, at the latest ... they will need a veteran throughout the transition to the youngsters ... wouldn't trade him now or next season out of fear of the extension.
  13. I love fellow Trifluvians, but he turns 27 in December ... any haunting most likely to be done at the AHL level ... if he doesn't break through to the NHL next season or the year after I could see him returning to Laval for the final few years of his pro career.
  14. He moves the puck well, but he is not the classic defensively-deficient point-producer that NEEDS a defensive anchor ... strikes me as fairly well-rounded ... I think he could be the long-term veteran presence for this evolving D-corps ... good mentor for Guhle, Harris, Barron and Kovacevic; and a year or two from now Hutson as well. Agreed That fits with an extension before/during 25/26 and a trade sometime during that deal
  15. I expect he is Laval-bound until (a) he earns a promotion and (b) HuGo clear some NHL roster space ... see-ya early March 2024(?).
  16. Likely slows down any trade talk.
  17. Drouin to Colorado apparently ... one year
  18. Didn't expect him to get that much for that long, so I guess maybe he "Jerry McGuired" it.
  19. Tucson is a nice location to spend an AHL season, even at a paltry $225K.
  20. Or that they want to move on from him regardless.
  21. It will be interesting to see if they take the non-LTIR approach ... and if so, how they get there ... moving Hoffman or Dvorack might do the trick ... it **might** avoid, or at least reduce, bonus carryover to 24/25 ... CapFriendly indicates a potential $4.2M in performance bonuses.
