  1. My tickets were $800. I decided to go all out and get lower bowl club seats. I think that internet ticket sales should be made ilegal. If the only scalpers were street scalpers, the prices would be a lot lower, but because they have months and weeks to change prices online based on supply and demand, they jack the prices way up. I spent the other 400 on gas hotel and booze.
  2. If we don't sign Tom Kostopopolopolous I will be pissed. I have a man crush on him right now.
  3. I dropped about 1200 bucks to go tho that game. I was interviewed by CBC french. That was kinda cool. 3 players seemed to be trying. Kosto, Koivu, and Dandy. Please never play Higgins as a centre. Please trade Kovy to Penguins for a bag of pucks and a first round pick.
  4. What really sucks is that I dropped a 1000 bones to go to Edmonton for the game. I hope I'm not sorely disapointed.
  5. Ya I'm freaking out here. I wasn't as excited as a lot of people about this team this year. I predicted 98 points. Part of this was because I thought that with so many impending UFAs that the team would be distracted. My other concern was Price, after his playoff. But I didn't expect this sort of inconsistancy! I am scared to watch a game. I paid good money for great seats in Edmonton. I hope I can at least watch them win. As Kozed said. I would like to see Plex, Higgins, AK46 together.
  6. Picture and sound quality is not the best but who cares. The 1975 new years eve game was amazing. I was very young and don't remember it. I actually got excited and even a little tense. It sounds so funny. I can imagine how Habs fans felt watching that one. I enjoyed the 70s games, but loved the 1984, 1986 and 1993 games. The Players are much closer to me memory wise. The only reason Lafleur is my favourite player is because he was my boyhood idol. When you are 6 years old, You are Guy Lafleur when you are playing with your friends.
  7. Kovalev and Price did not play well, but the reason we lost that game was Miller. The guy has been on fire lately. Our loss to Boston and to Buffalo were because we came up against a hot goalie. When you face that hot goalie, that ONE MISTAKE costs you the game. That's why we are picking apart the mistakes and sloppy play. Laraque was really trying to hit out there. Nice to see that.
  8. I can't stand the way the goon game has gone. Back in the 70s and 80s it was more rare to have two goons discuss fighting each other. Usually the goon (Dave Schultz style guy) would get pissed for hitting a star, and would go after him. The purpose of an enforcer is to calm down Begin style player on the other team. It was more like this. Goon's team is losing...goon crushes good player...goon waits for someone to come stand up for his teammate,,,goon wins fight...momentum to goon's team, cuz they can crush the other team without fear of getting slaughtered. This works a lot better when said goon is actually on the ice. Like Tiger Williams or Nilan. Those guys actually played hockey for more than 3 minutes. Who would you rather have? Boogard or Clutterbuck? I choose Clutterbuck, because he can play hockey. I still say the best goon in the league is Brashear. At least he can play hockey.
  9. Dude, watch the games. The videos aren't sealed. The only ones I haven't watched are the 1960 game. I watched the first period. The closing of the forum (actual game) I watched the ceremony. Heritage classic. Who cares. The other 7 were great. I really wish the heritage classic was not in there. Who voted for that?
  10. Our boys were a litte pissed after getting beat by the Bs. I wonder if there is a stat that shows how well Kovy plays when he has to show an opponent Russian who is better.
  11. Now we can see if Chipchura is a true shutdown stud. He's gonna have to work on his faceoff a lot.
  12. I would keep Kovalev as well. We may change our statements in the future though. One stat that is not on there are Kovalev's retaliation penalties in the offensive zone. They are selfish. He gets frustrated at not having room and retaliates. At least Captain hook is trying to slow down a player. Kovy just selfishly whacks somebody and off he goes.
  13. You won't see Bieksa leave the Nucks for that. Bieksa is to Vancouver as Marki and Komi are to Habs. They love him there. They would want a roster defenseman. I think that a trade with Pitsburgh could have potential. Stall would cost a hell of a lot more than Kovy straight up though. Probably Kovy and a top prospect.
  14. Yesterday, Andre came flying down the right side at high speed. Without a lot of thought, he looked at the hole and let the shot go. IRON. Because it was red. This is the theory. Your eye is attracted to the colour red and at high speed, that's where you put the puck. It's not a matter of dark or white. It's the specific colour red. I watched a program on it. I can't remember what it was called. There is even some talk about red netting behind the goalie. This would affect cameras and people watching behind the net, so I doubt it will occurr. I'm not convinced that it will work, and you may see Price let in a lot more in the 5 hole. That is just the theory, and it is known and researched by the NHL and teams.
  15. I still think that last year when Carbo was fighting to make the team play a system, he said OK lets try the Old Bowman's throw speed at them. And it worked great. Habs were so fun to watch last year. They had no system at all and it was fun. This year they do seem to play different for different teams. Trap one team forecheck another. I think the offensive system is not an issue. Actually I should retract part of that statement. When they play against the trap, they need to skate more and support the puck carrier. Be close and ready for the give and go. Long passes against the trap are dangerous. it's defensively where there seems to be an issue. I was very impressed by our defensive game yesterday. Thomas made a few great saves and the way he held it in his skates was pretty crazy. |With the exception of the injuries and our power play, I thought the Habs played very well. As I said before, If they continue to play like this, they will succeed.
  16. Lang out hurts. I hope Stewart comes up in place of Lats. I was very impressed with Stewart's play. I really think this guy is a career grinder of the Brad May fasion. He passes well, which is rare for these grinders. As for Lats replacement, Chip should be fine. I know Plek isn't putting up the points, but I really believe that Kovy helped his production a lot. With Lats and Lang out, the team should be a lot faster at least. LOL
  17. We need Moses Sundin! Look what he has done for the Canuckleheads
  18. Ya that was us last year in the East. Cream of the crop. Dominating offensive team. The spread wasn't as large, but we came out 1st. What did it gain us? We were beat down in the playoffs by the very same teams we dominated. Between us and the Pens, coming out first and second, the rest of the eastern teams seem to be playing more western trap style hockey, and it has hurt us. Kovy is being checked fiercely. This loss hurt, but I like the way the team played. Carefull defensive hockey. Somewhat frustrating, but always in it. If we can play like that, and sieze our opprtunities when they come, the team will be fine. Great PK tonight.
  19. i'LL take some scott hartnell please, with a side of barrett jackman. the team would be better and waaaay tougher. still no pointman though.
  20. Totally agree with you. Koivu played great today. His vision was great. Second efforts were many.
