I would love to see Grigo or Galyencuk (sp?) step right in, and I think if we draft one of them they most likely will. I am just not so sure about Plekanec anymore...I really think it is a confidence issue with him and on a team this bad that could be trouble.

the problem is that DD is too small to handle big forwards downlow in his own end.....but i think he is aware defensively enough to handle attaking players on the rush. So theoretically it would be possible to be the third guy back to handle the rush but then stay high to cover the point when in the defensive zone...just saying.....this could work but it would give alot of responsibility to his wingers to get back in time to break up the cycle, thats alot of work/skating (basically end to end) for Cole or Patches, unless they make a b-line for the bench and someone jumps on to cover for them. But I could see this being a mess in defensive zone coverage.

but again the difference is we dont have a scoring centerman for him to make plays to....from my personal experience and even watching the habs in the past putting 2 setup guys on the same line just doesn't work, now if we get a big scoring centerman then i would like to see that experiment, until then it is my opinion that he makes a better centerman than winger.

I really dont like the idea of putting DD on the wing...just doesn't have the scoring punch...no drive to the net. If he is on the wing he needs to have a big Centerman to take up space and draw defencemen away from him

I think Eller has confidence issues....too much pressure and not enough encouragement from Cunningworth ( read...at this point in the season he needs to find a groove not sit on the bench all game) he should be alloted 2nd line center duties next season and given some rope (read quality linemates) to see what he can do for 20 games or so. He has size and skill, he just needs to build some chemestry with consistent wingers (not Kostitsyn) and i think we will be surprised with his output. Put him between Cole and Gio and we instantly have a 2nd line that works hard is defensively responsible and can score. i dont think its that unreasonable to expect 20-25 goals from every guy on that line including Eller. especially if we actually have a Number 1 center to take the tough assignments (2nd overall draft pick this year, i know it is much to ask for from a kid but others recently have done it, RNH).... and a third line center to take most of the defensive assignments (Plekanecs). the way i see it is that Pleks plays best when he is the best skilled player on the line. if you are still with me I am thinking this: Patches (1st rounder or DD) (FA winger) -- with Gomez gone we are going to have money to spend this offseason on a 1st line winger Gionta Eller Cole ---if after 20 games this doesn't work swap Pleks for Eller Bourque Plekanec Leblanc/Moen (kind of an expensive 3rd worth it to have Pleks in on all important faceoffs/penalty kills/hardchecking) Boom Boom Jr White staubitz type (crash, bang and fight) a llittle weak in FW's but that can be fixed (hire a face off coach-- no panic Yanik) this will give us three very close lines in terms of skill each will have a designated role. plus if we can get a true sniper for the firstline Winger position (Parise?) we would really be dangerous. and the best part is i think we have the money to pull this off if PG doesnt ###### it up. With the plethora of picks we have in the next two drafts all we have to do is plugin players as they become NHL ready and there is space (ie. Gionta's contract expires, Coles contract expires). Pleks and Bourque are here for a while and everyone else will be re-uped in the next season or two. Vola insta-dinasty (feel free to cut up my ideas at your convienience)

I think it will only be Kaberle left come next training camp...and only because he has the most value for us out of all three of those clowns. very true

i still hate the interm tag on Cunningworth, just keeps reminding me how Mickey Mouse this organization has been this year.

I actually forget the name of the assistant GM/Coach that we have right now.......having a brain fart.....but I definitely see him becoming the new GM. I know he hasn't had alot of gm experience but he has been around for a long time, in almost everyother capacity as a front office executive. If we get Grigo in the draft I definitely see Roy coming over to coach the team. I would really like to see Roy as coach with Cunny returning to assistant (if he'll have it).

next on PGs to do list......sign Subban and Price...then play golf

well boys...and girls if there are any here, tomorrows the day that PG earns with check lets see if he is worth his money. Although I think he has done an average job so far, this is his time to really stock the cupboards for the next few years. I hope he does just that....and in the process gets us closer to 2nd overall pick
