  1. If I remember correctly, Monahan did well with Suzuki and Caufield las season for a short period
  2. I doubt he gets anything g better, he was always a long shot and seems to do well for the Habs I doubt other organizations would value him
  3. Good for the kid, he will come and haunt us at some point
  4. not me, that line would be too small. Suzuki with Monahan would get some respite on Left handed face offs If I remember correctly, Newhook plays an aggressive uptempo game like Dach; I think that is a better fit, and he can take some face offs there too
  5. I hope Teaser signs an AHL contract with LVL, would like to see him stay with the organization
  6. I’ll have to read this again next year before the draft ! Excellent work @Peter Puck !
  7. I am happy with this trade, HighGort has done well this summer. I can go back to summer mode and be hopeful for the start of training camp. I expect the Habs to do well next season; the young core has lots of room to progress and compete. Let’s hope the goalies are healthy all season
  8. from this article, quoting a radio interview with Martin Lapointe: https://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey/2023-06-30/rondelle-libre/le-ch-et-sa-culture-d-entreprise.php?sharing=true "Jacob Fowler was the first on the CH's goalie list, ahead of Adam Gajan, Michael Hrabal, Trey Augustine, Carson Bjarnason and Damian Clara" I am really happy about this pick
  9. I agree on the number of contracts, or "contracts space", or roster spots: Signed: Monahan-Suzuki-Caufield Newhook-Dach-Anderson ⚓ Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher ⚓ Pezzetta-Evans-Armia Slafkovsky Matheson-Barron Guhle-Savard [Harris/Xhekaj/Edmundson] -Kovacevic kept to watch games from gallery: Wideman RFAs: Harvey-Pinard,Ylönen
  10. a bit premature to be comparing David... [*] to Weber, isn't it
  11. finally! I've been hoping they go with multiple goalie picks at the draft for a couple of years. There is a better chance to get one right, than pinning all hopes one one goalie. I am happy with the strategy: happy camper here!
  12. I am sure I saw a report on Mailloux, somewhere. Consensus was that he was freewheeling and looking to score most of the time and that his defensive game had to be built since he had not played much. I thought his production potential was always high. I have not checked Barron's numbers, but if I remember correctly, he was seen as having less point production potential than Mailloux. but heck, you are probably right
  13. Seems like he was outstanding in the USHL playoffs, voted series MVP #GoodPick
  14. I thought Mailloux had higher projected point productions than Guhle, Harris. ... on par with Barron? not sure there.
  15. I think that Newhook is the type of forward they wanted, already an NHL top-9 that will probably become a mainstay on the Habs top-6. They didn't need to drop to get Reinbacher, probably because the offers were not that great for their 5th pick, so they used the pick to draft the player they wanted. Overall I am happy because they got a young NHL player still developing and the best RHD available in the draft. That is very good for the team.
  16. I see him as a great LW with Dach. With someone like Anderson on their right to play a fast and high energy game. From what I say on hokey-reference, he doesn't seem to have great FO% but he could take the odd lefty FO and help Dach when waived from the dot.
  17. I am really happy about this pick. I looked at the projected line-up for the 2024-2025 season and the Habs seem to be trending towards a competitive and exciting team. What is there not to like with Barron, Mailloux, Reinbacher and Kovacevic on RD? If they continue to develop, Habs are set for a while on RD.
  18. Not bad, not bad at all. I am happy with this pick
