I like the idea of Lats , Koivu , Kovy on one line because Koivu and Lats seem to be playing well together and Koivu is very responsible defensively ... Kovy is well Kovy .. hopefully he can get jump started and get some great shots off with Lats in front. the "other" line of Sammy , Higgins , Ryder would hopefully get Sammy jump started by having two really good shooters on his line he can feed the puck too and make simple plays. Maybe it would get Ryder to be more consitant as well I think the problem with the Sammy , Pleck , Kovy line is they try way to hard to be to complicated ... way to much east/west and not enough north/south ... if they stay together they need to make things a little more simple until they start to click, and then try the hard/cute crap that they're doing now. It saddens me to say that Plecks might be becoming a Bulis type ... wants to be offensive but just can't bury the puck consitantly ... with perezhogin doing so well on the 3rd line plecks might become expendable or packaged for an upgrade somewhere. I just can't see him on the 4th line or that type of player.

I don't think Gainey would trade Souray even if he publicly states he's not going to re-sign .. especially if the habs are in playoff contention.

Why would the Kings want Souray ??? :?- ... they're not going to make the playoffs so why would they trade Visnovsky for someone who's an UFA after the season ?? I'm sure they'd want a few picks thrown in there as well

The problem with the 2nd line is they're trying to be to fancy and make nice passing plays ... they need to drive the net and shoot ... or at least try to cycle the puck down low when it's called for. now the 2 posters above me make great points ... I don't think it would be a bad idea to put higgins with sammy and kovy ... at least maybe some of higgins great work ethic will rub off on them. But until he comes back that won't happen. As for the 2nd line power play ... don't break up Souray and Markov .. its works ! don't risk derailing the 1st pp line. Rivet and Striet are fine, but I agree with not having Kovalev center the power play ... have Bonk or Johnson do it at least they can win more faceoffs. It would also help the down low play and then at least they will get in front of the net. either that or just give power play time to the 3rd line. :hlogo:

I still think it's too early to hand Huet a true #1 job ... he's never had that kind of work load before in the NHL ever ! example Gerber, he played his first full year last year and he got worn out and lost his job to his back up at the end of the year ... now his back up ( who has never had that kind of work load ) is struggling with it now too. Abby is more than capable of winning games as Huet is right now ... I'd go with Huet alittle more now that he's seems to be on a hot streak but don't throw Abby under the bus just yet as he will want out. if Huet keeps it up all season, then Abby becomes alot more valuable to teams needing goalies at the deadline or in Jan/Feb.

I'd like to see him stay ... he's a shooter ... doesn't hesitate to fire that puck and has a great shot to boot ... but unless a trade happens he'll be sent down ... I don't want him on the 4th line ... same with Guy IMO but that's alittle more doable because he can hit.

they did allow the refs to do that ... then the NHL turned into the clutch and hold league about 10 years ago. The rules haven't changed ... the refs are now just calling them properly.

Nice ... now they can go on Jerry Springer so K-fed can contest that the babies are not his and have a paternity test.

Maybe Lats isn't really ready for the NHL .. but he can't go anywhere now ... so it's up to him to play the best he can and learn as quickly as he can ... it's also up to the coaching staff to teach him and get him to understand what it takes and put it on the ice game in and game out ... that will make Roy shut up and probably even apologize for that little comment.

I think the NHL should just not have referee's anymore ... that way nobody can complain either way ... just have the goal judges turn the light on when a goal is scored and have the players play 3 wack patty cake for faceoffs.

One thing you guys have to remember is he's 19 and coming from a team were he was expected to take long shifts because he was one of the best players on that team ... it's a habit that his body is used to ... i'm sure carbo has been working with him to shorten his shifts. :hlogo:

PTG ... sounds to me like your in the right spot From what I've read from you is that St. Louis is in desperate need of help, and you love and want to help people, it also seems that your very knowledgeable about politics ... sounds like a good recipe to get St. Louis out of the gutter to me But if your seriously burnt out on your town ... then you've got to do what you've got to do brother Just don't forget that it was St Louis and all your past experiences that help make you the person you are today and you should be happy about that ... like you've said your young and healthy ... that's all that matters, that's the best foundation you could build on what you want to build on it is up to you ... it's your life brother ... make it your own and do the things your heart and soul desire. Ok 2 things ... I don't like the fact Sammy is saying what he's saying in the press about his situation .. he needs to talk to Carbo and Gainey about it in private ... but with that said, its nice too know he cares and that he wants to be a high end player for the team now what Niinima said with the "prediction" why wouldn't you want your players to be like that ... now he could have worded it differently .... but he has confidence in his team ... he feels they can beat anyone ! that's a good attitude to have IMO ... I wouldn't want guys going out there thinking they have no chance. and that they expect to lose. Give it time people ! Hopefully Carbo can get everyone on the ship and get it sailing in the right direction soon B)

If i'm not mistaken if they do send Lats back to juniors it doesn't count as a year of service even if he has a contract or not ... if he plays that 10th game then his first year kicks in and counts towards his UFA eligibility .... also if he is sent back then they don't have to pay him the money from that contract .. his junior teams pays him what his contract with them pays.

I guess that means the dude that wrote this doesn't really follow the HABS ... why would the Riberio trade have anything to do with Higgins getting more ice time ... Zednik walked as a free agent ... so Washington gave us a 4th rounder just for the privlage of having Zednik sign with them as a UFA .... how does that type of bad info slip by all the editors that read that before they put it up ?

If a player has played in the WHL , OHL , QMJHL, he cannot play on any other team/league other than the NHL until age 20 or has played 4 years of Junior. College, European etc do not have an age limit ... so they at 18 can play in the AHL if they want to ... altough college players would lose there collage elligibility.

Soooo your saying that the Blues should just pack up and go to Canada ? I'm sure they have more than 30,000 fans at or watching the games ... I know I try to watch as many games as possible but I dont' watch every Habs game or every Kings game every season. the sad thing is I watch the Habs from California on Center Ice ... I don't think they even take that into effect when they pull viewership numbers in Montreal.
