  1. You've got to be kidding right? The best goalie since Patrick Roy, the best defenseman since Larry Robinson and the highest goal scoring forward over the last 20 + years all at their prime and you think there isn't a window to win that's going to start closing relatively soon? If something major isn't done within 2-3 years then this management team will have wasted some of the best talent to come through the organization over the past 40 yrs.
  2. Didn't realize it was on. Not much promo for it.
  3. Give me a break! Can we at least get to February before calling the season? So much negativity on these boards.
  4. I also agree that Max does care and it's killing him the way things are going. At the start of the Caps game he was hyperventilating even before the puck dropped, a sure sign of anxiety. Is Max the right guy for the C? Hard to answer but he's among the select few on this team that I would consider candidates for all the same reasons mentioned above. Perhaps the best would be Gallagher but he is young but there is no denying that he is the guy who is best at leading by example.
  5. ...and imagine how critical it is to capitalize while Price is still in his prime. 5 yr window? With this in mind there have to be some tough decisions made by management.
  6. This could be a result of Therien's magic blender system. DD is expecting someone to be where they were earlier in the year but now there's another guy playing on that line. Therien should had never f*cked with that line. I get it, there's injuries but slot a replacement from St. John's into the injured guy's place. DD's line has looked like shit and it probably could have been avoided.
  7. Going for the comedic approach eh? That picture looks like Gally is about to meet his maker. Amazing how much this team misses that little bastard.
  8. Looks like Chucky and Patches together finally. Would love to see Gally there too but we'll have to wait.
  9. Yeah I'm not liking Therrien's blender. Why break up DD's line? Leave it alone, it's the only line not F'ed up by injuries. Hope the infirm get well soon. Oh and on a second note, trash Emelin and bring Pateryn back. Thank you.
  10. Maybe if someone from the AHL club was given his spot they wouldn't be a healthy scratch like the guy they're replacing because they can actually do something on the ice instead of take up space like Semin.
  11. Seriously, why is Semin even in the conversation any more. I'd rather see a guy from the AHL given his spot
  12. So how are you liking the magic blender? Albeit Therrien doesn't have much choice with all the injuries but he didn't hesitate to put DD and Patches together again.
  13. Really?!? I find DSP has really improved this year. He's smart and always makes the right play, his speed has improved and he's a tenacious forechecker who can be physical, in other words a great 3rd/4rth line guy. You must be seeing something I'm not if you think he should sit.
  14. A match penalty calls for an automatic 1 game suspension unless it is reversed by the NHL. So at this moment he is suspended unless otherwise ruled.
  15. Anticipating a Beaulieu suspension? Looking at it again on youtube, the principle point of contact was the left shoulder. The stick slid up as Rinaldo kept coming forward. Shouldn't be a suspension anyway because he just put up his stick to protect himself from a guy who is known as a loose cannon. We'll see.
  16. In the off season I caught myself drinking Mr. Bergevin's kool-aid believing that he wouldn't be playing Chucky at centre anytime soon. Perhaps he believed it too or maybe he didn't want to show his hand just yet, who knows. However, if he had no intention of having Galchenyuk at centre then perhaps the bigger, stronger, and more mature version of #27 that showed up at training camp changed his mind. I think it's time to go all in (another poker analogy) and put Galchenyuk between Pacioretty and Gallagher as the #1 centre. The team is winning and it's early in the season so it seems like the right time for a little experimentation. We all know that for this team to be truly considered a/the favourite we need a true #1 centre and #1 line. As much as I like Pleks, he's not the man for the job. Plekanec is not exactly a playmaker and I think it's starting to show with Pacioretty's lack of scoring lately. Besides, if he slips down to a line with less ice time, the aging Plekanec will be fresher for his special team duties that are so vital for the team and hopefully his playoff performance will improve. I'm thinking Eller, Pleks, and Smith-Pelley would be an awesome shut down line. Galchenyuk is part of this team's future and he needs the confidence that will come from playing with line mates who can score which is something his current ones aren't capable of providing. As we all can see, that line has been a failure. Semin is probably as bad as most people thought and I never want to hear Eller's name mentioned again in the same sentence with 'scoring forward'. Lars is a decent third line forward, nothing more. But it's not just Galchenyuk that needs the change. The team needs it even more.
  17. I don't see Eller's play as deserving of being on the 2nd line. If it wasn't for the fear of disturbing the DD line I would put Flash in Eller's place in a heartbeat. That and the fact our supposed 3rd line is really our 2nd line in terms of production. I'm willing to be more patient with Semin than Eller at this point because Eller has burned so many opportunities with this team. Semin is new here so I'd stick with him for a while to give him a fair shot at it.
  18. Honestly I've had it with Eller. I've been waiting for him to break out and be the player he has the potential to be but I've given up on him now. He's had so many opportunities to step up but he's so inconsistent and most of the time he produces nothing. I've been a fan of his and I've been waiting but I'm done. Please trade him.
  19. I'm loving Smith-Pelly. Easily the most improved Hab over last year.
  20. Pateryn is higher on the depth chart than Tinordi. Management doesn't have faith in Tinordi and he has lost his confidence. Don't think he has a future in Montreal.
  21. So by that logic Beaulieu gets a free ticket because he's a LD no matter how bad he is? Don't think so. Hey I hope he improves but if he's playing like this come playoffs then Pateryn comes in RD or not.
  22. Yes I agree there shouldn't be changes right away while everything is going so good but it should be on Therrien's radar that if this continues then the second and third lines should be rethought. Say later in the season when games become more meaningful in terms of playoff indications. Same goes for Beaulieu. He is brutal right now and has no business being out there but it's not majorly affecting the team as witnessed by the win streak. If things weren't so rosy right now I would put Pateryn in there in a heartbeat.
