giovannicanella
Especially considering how Dan Jancevski is moving on... Shelly might not sign.... Streit will be used as a forward... Dandy and Cube...may be moved... What are the chances of Mathieu Biron on the habs pro roster...2007/2008 This guy is a former first round pick...has an "interesting" scout report... Secondly...how well or unwell did he fare with the Hamilton Bulldogs...according to his stats he was "OK"
The-Habby2919
I doubt it and Streit will be on the D next year. :hlogo:
JMMR
I doubt he ever plays for the Canadiens he is very big but very slow and could not even crack the caps top 6 in previous year.
Fanpuck33
If Biron makes the Habs this year, it would be a clear sign that Gainey has this team going in the wrong direction. It would mean he gambled on getting some UFAs and failed big time.
MAK
hopefully no chance at all.
CoRvInA
what a way to answer ...geezzz the truth is unless (from what I've read) I've never seen the player... he needs to improve substantially at many levels to even become a reserve defense-men for the habs. to put it in perspective realistically we need all our D to be at least top 4 D's and only a David fisher like (all package Dmen top2 prospects D) would be allowed to be the 6th D or 7th D so Biron would have to really improve to become that
BTH
Markov-Komisarek Streit-Gorges Dandenault-Bouillon Even if we sign no free agents and lose Souray, he still doesn't crack our roster. That D would suck though, we'd need a #3 defenceman in there to push Gorges off the roster and Streit to the #4 spot. Streit would be good with Hannan, I think. RobRock
I think Bob had Emelin in his plans for a spot, but now that he's staying in Russia, I think O'Byrne is the best chance for a prmotion from Hamilton. Biron was acquired to be a playing coach for guys like him, and to be a leader with the 'Dogs.
kaos
0% chance that Biron will be on the roster. Dandenault and Bouillon will not be moved anywhere
MAK
I just don't see how an improvement he would be. at his age, he should be in the Nhl already. I guess he'll never be...maybe we'll see him for a few games but thats it. Edited June 24, 2007 by marky_and_komi
giovannicanella
yes it does seem that obyrne is the highest on the depth chart and move up to the pro ranks... was trying to sound out what you all thought ...or have seen of biron... mathieu30
deux frères, une cause Biron is going to work hard this off-season and will be trying his best to make it a hard decision for the staff to cut him come training camp. Always liked these (New Year) resolutions during the summer. Good luck buddy. Go :hlogo: go! mathieu30
Off topic: his brother is a great character : Biron exchanges words with Crosby Always liked Marty. Still remember that game at the Molson Centre when a Canadiens player shot from around the hashmarks. Point blank. There was a scramble in front of the net. Some pushing and shuving. The goal judge lighted the lamp. Biron turned his head, smiled at the judge. I was sitting a few seats above that judge. Pure magic. Biron opened his glove and showed the puck at the judge. No goal was awarded. Never will I forget that moment. Biron has some much fun on the ice. That's why I like that guy. Pretty sure Buffalo misses him. giovannicanella
yeah...i was just thinking...of the friendship of biron and briere...now we know the true reason briere went to the flyers Joke. Was the goalie biron a waiver pick up? not bad eh for a waiver pick up? better than leighton no? Habs could..would have gone for biron goalie as waiver pick (if we didnt have price / halak ) and then briere would have come to mtl....sigh... smon
No, the Flyers traded a 2nd round pick for him - but that was a very reasonable price nonetheless.
