Habsfan84
One Year at $735,000 Pretty cheap deal for him. Good signing. Does he have a spot in the lineup however?
dlbalr
Took his qualifying offer, gets him to arbitration next summer. I'm surprised he went that route this fast. It gives Montreal a bit more money to work with in free agency but by the time they fill out their roster and leave some cushion to work with, it's still not a lot. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Bit of a make-or-break season for Mete, methinks. Is he a potential #4 puck-moving D? Or is he just a fleet-of-foot bottom-paring guy? Time to answer that question.
Trizzak
I know non-arbitration RFAs have really limited negotiating power, but the dude has been a good soldier for the Habs for 3 seasons playing everywhere from the top pairing LD to third pairing RD. How do you not get even a bit of extra "thank you" money?
tomh009
It's a bit more indeed: it's a $735K one-way contract rather than a league-minimum $700K two-way contract. Not much more, but at least a bit (5%) more.

That is a pre-cap concept ... in many ways it is sad that it is lost ... but business is business in the modern NHL
