huzer
These threads pop up every year, whining and complaining about trading away so-and-so. We should dwell on the present and the future. Agreed. It's over.
Jean
I'm happy than Ribiero is gone because of his attitude as many pointed out already. His departure really helped team's spirit. However, I think we should had asked for more than a declining 8th dman for him, we should had asked for a 5th-6th dman à la Dandenault/Bouillon. beliveau1
What's so funny. That is my point. I started the thread to generate discussion. Instead I was bashed for.... In any case, I give up.. There is no point discussing it. If fact, it appears that unless I start a thread praising Carbo, Gainey, or Lats, there is not much point discussing players at all. Sheesh, you would think I started a thread to trade for Tucker... The point I think for many here is the continuing lament some develop for what has been, or might have been. I do not bash you for wanting to discuss something - I just think that it's time to move on from the 'what if' speculation such threads perpetrate. Personally I hold no animosity to him, in fact I wish Ribeiro all the best at whatever he does, wherever! For whatever reason though Gainey gambled on the fact he felt he could move him in order to address a specific need(and most outside the organization will never know the exact reason he was deemed expendable, and so be it?) Never give up! Discussion is pretty much always welcome, but dwelling on what is done & passed is merely a waste of time and effort. Weaknesses and situations should be discussed; needs should be evaluated; opinions should be shared be they right or wrong - productive criticism is a necessary means of enlightenment? But in the end it is all just the words of arm-chair managers that are expressed here. The simple fact many here forget is all that really matters are the decisions of the real management team - Gainey & company..... I just feel that, like my moniker says there is nothing to gain in moaning over what might have been. The time comes eventually to just move on - for this guy it has now passed...... BTH
He hasn't done this in Montreal twice. In fact, he has never even done it once. His +/- rating is boosted because the team is doing well. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a two-way guy like Lehtinen on his line (I don't know for certain who his linemates are). He's got talent for sure. He looked to be improving in the offseason. His friends had been traded. Heck, I watched him at a practice in training camp and he even looked pretty fast. But he's gone now and good riddance. He got his chance here and couldn't do it. Now we all move on - he clearly has. Let's do the same. Go Niinimaa Go! :hlogo:
Bacchus
When Theodore came back to town to get his GAA average ruined he was asked if he kept in touch with any of his old teammates. His answer: Mike Reibero. Party boys with no team spirits keep in touch with each other, no doubt. Glad he (and they) is gone ... we have a team again. On the other hand, maybe Reibero will mature away from the hometown microscope. I hope he does, because he was a full time loser in MTL. Not surprised at the coke rumour. Wouldn't be surprised if Theodore was all over that too.

Fanpuck33
http://forums.habsworld.net/index.php?showtopic=57 Please read rule number 4. Your last two posts haven't exactly passed the muster. They would have been in the same post had my internet not crapped out for a few minutes, giving you a chance to respond before I could reply quick enough for my two posts to be merged. Anyways, it's silly to spell a person's name wrong. If you bash/praise/talk about someone, it's common courtesy to spell their name right. People just end up looking silly when they spell a guy's name wrong (aside from the accidental slips, of course). When people see a post where a player's name is spelled wrong over and over again, it's hard to take what that person says sersiously. It's the reason I look up Francois Beauchemin every time I type it.

Also, I notice that you seem to spell pretty well, but when I read your opinions I don't base it on how you spell your words, but rather the content of your discussion. And when I find your opinion lacking I address that directly. I don't laugh at your opinion ... because it isn't respectful to other viewers who will be forced to read the meanigless crap ... which this thread is slowly becoming ... and seeing as you are a moderator you should set a better example and not litter threads with basically "you're so stupid, you don't know how to spell ... LMFAO " IMO
KoZed
Ribs on pace for 50-60 pts, about the same he got in the past two seasons in Montreal, so he's just cruising at the same pace as before.

gelu88
The thread has been beaten down quite a bit, but to add a bit: Remember that early this season we were down 2 D's, without ninamaa we would have been in serious trouble. Also, it doesn't matter how good a player is, if his behavior and attitude is reducing the performance of the rest of the team more than he is adding, then he is a liability. Finally, as someone referenced before, if you look at what role he is playing now in dallas (4th line plus PP specialist) compared to the role he would hypothetically play here(2nd line centre plus PP) I do not see how he could produce as much as he is.(but i am is no way certain about that, prove me wrong...)
