  1. Past hour
  2. Skinner has made some great saves and non of those goals were his fault. Still I feel like he needs to have one of them.
  3. Top Star forwards 10-11 minutes Oil top 3 all 14+minutes.
  4. Its a great matchup. The oilers have the best top end of the roster. The stars have the best top to bottom roster in the league.
  5. It's Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, it appears ... what a contrast between the first and the second.
  6. Today
  7. Dallas has awesome depth, but what they don't have is a Carbonneau to counter McDavid's Gretzky. If you can't control the opponent's top line, the depth doesn't work quite so well.
  8. Yesterday
  9. I laughed when he did his Don Cherry impersonation. Unfortunately he is starting to sound a lot like him now.
  10. Didnt say know they what are doing, just owners and players agree with current employee safety/discipline matters. Didnt say is as it should be; just it is what the owners-players agree upon. And it seems that the fans always get too worked up over this stuff than we should. We whine about officiating and suspensions the same now, as i recall was done in the 80s-90s-...
  11. If you want to believe the NHL Player Safety Dept knows what they are doing, and are above criticism for their calls, you are free to take that position. You are kind of in the minority though. Personally I think their decisions are shit.
  12. Of course he would, we would likely make excuses for him. We would probably love Marchand if he played for Montreal but that's not the point. They don't play for Montreal so I choose not to like them.
  13. And was not penalized 1 minute, correct? Never suspended. So he is playing within the rules and is a very good player, isnt he? Trouba is like many hard hitting d-men, they live on the edge, no suspension coming for elbow, so all good as far as NHL safety dept is concerned, so why do fans give a crap. The $5,000 fine is gonna make things all good, no?
  14. Yes, that needs some professional scouting and development assessment to determine that. Maybe yes, maybe no. But he's three months past his 23rd birthday and only 16 days older than Newhook so he's not exactly over the hill. of course, the Newhook trade was a year ago, so he'll be one year and 16 days older than Newhook when he was traded to the Habs. Just speculating on whether he might be a potential target for Hughes ...
  15. Kreider running into Price is far from the only time he has run over goalies. He had 3-4 alone in the same playoffs as he hit Price. As for Trouba. I hope he gets suspended. He's a dirty player with lots of these dirty hits and a two hand slash to another player in the helmet this season. He absolutely gets no benefit of the doubt.
  16. Why what has Krieder done? Just because he "accidently" ran into Price, have seen 5 or 10 of those in this years playoffs? And if the NHL is OK not suspending Trouba, i dont care. If Trouba played for Montreal, am sure he would be viewed different on here.
  17. 2021 wasnt bad neither, picking 23rd and 47th. (Stankoven a 5'8" centre passed over...wonder why, he shone in the AHL this year) 2023-24 Texas Stars AHL 47 24 33 57
  18. I thiiiink the stats say the chances of developing further post 24 or not great. Guys that pop off after that are more likely system specific or weren't given opportunity. No idea if Kaako fits in that
  19. Never been a fan of Trouba, or Kreider. He gets no benefit of the doubt from me either.
  20. No doubt, to get a #1 goalie, a #1 defenseman and a point/game forward in the same draft year is phenomenal.
  21. Much as I like PK Subban, I don’t understand his commentaries on controversial hits. In almost every case, he defends the hitter, yells that “that’s playoff hockey.” 🤮 But in this particular case, he is banging the gong over and over that it’s a dirty hit.
  22. They litterally built their actual team in 2017. #3 : Miro Heiskanen (could have been Makar as well...) #26 : Jake Oettinger #39 : Jason Robertson This is an insane franchise changing draft right there with top talent at every position.
  23. Trouba gets no "benefir of the doubt" I-M-O ... almost everything he does is "intent to injure" unless OBVIOUS BEYOND ANY DOUBT not
  24. Dallas has done well at draft table. How the Dallas Stars keep drafting and developing talent from the back of the first round - The Athletic (nytimes.com) "Benn and Seguin are still here, still contributing. Pavelski is still a major piece. Ryan Suter, 39, is on the back end, still logging significant minutes. But this is a young man’s team now. Johnston leads the Stars in goals this postseason with seven. Heiskanen leads in points with 14, averaging more than 28 minutes per game. Robertson has 13 points and already has had two 40-goal seasons. Stankoven has stepped up and produced in the playoffs with Hintz injured. Harley is averaging more than 24 hard minutes a night and chipped in 47 points during the regular season."
  25. What did folks think about Trouba’s elbow? Minor penalty or a major? The one camera angle looks like a minor penalty to me but the other camera angle makes me think it’s a major. Gallagher was suspended for a lesser chicken wing elbow
  26. Not enough, though, if your goalie allows three-plus goals beyond you xGA.
