  2. The only moving up from 5th that I thought might be possible was if the Yotes finished before the Habs. They did not plus they are no longer the Yotes anyway. I doubt any of the teams ahead of them are willing to trade spots and even if they would it probably wouldnt matter anyway. ex: if they're taking a dman and would let Hughes pick before them the F would still be available. No clue why so many want to flip the Jets pick to move up and get a dman when there is a dman available at the Jets pick. ex: Cole Hutson. However, that depends on what happens with the lottery. If the Habs move up Cole might still available at their 2nd rnd position. If they dont move up or move back Cole wont be available with their 2nd rnd pick. They are saying most of those prospects are small because average size is 6' 200lbs so players under that size are being called small. ex: Helanius is 5'11" 180lbs, so will he gain 20lbs to be 200lbs? I think he'll be 195lbs max -so he'll be close to average. However, Catton is only 163 lbs so he might not even reach 180lbs. Catton would be a good fit if Newhook was 6'2"+ 210+ lbs. If the Habs take Catton the rest of their picks should be players that are 6'3"+ 200+ lbs.
  3. Beck 1a 4 shots 11/19 in 4-2 Win; game 6 on sunday.
  4. Montreal’s Key Summer Defensive Decision – HabsWorld.net "That means it’s decision time for management. Is Barron someone that they see as part of Montreal’s longer-term plans? (Or at least for a couple of years.) If yes, then hold onto him and move someone else. Pretty simple."
  5. Right now the Winnipeg pick is 27th. To move up we need the following to happen: 1) Edmonton to beat Vancouver (I think a good possibility) 2) Colorado to beat Dallas (I think that's about 50/50, two pretty equal teams). If Colorado plays Vegas then it doesn't matter who wins 3) The winner of Boston-Toronto to beat Florida (very unlikely in my opinion). Worst case scenario is 27, best case is 24, most likely 25 or 26.

  7. Barron is getting moved I feel for sure as he is now waiver eligible? I actually think two of Barron, Harris, Kovacevic and Struble will be moved this off season to make room for Hutson, who has immediately supplanted them all and is in top 6.
  8. I feel Hutson has immediately shot up our depth chart and is in our top 4, or top 6 at the very least... For this reason, Guhle will remain on the right side. I also wouldn't rule out Guhle partnering Hutson on a 2nd pair.
  9. What an exciting finish for the Canucks. Congratulations 🎉
  10. There is some serious goaltending going on in Nashville tonight
  11. Matheson, Guhle, Harris, and Xhekaj on the left. Savard and Kovacevic on the right. All NHL ready. Hughes made a point of saying he doesn't want to block the transition to the NHL for the other defensemen. There's no guarantee Savard gets traded in the off-season or Hutson/Reinbacher will be on the NHL roster next season, fairly unlikely in reality. Neither Reinbacher or Hutson will be a 7th defenseman because AHL play time is better than sitting in a press box. There's definitely a move or 2 to be made to get Struble and Barron some more NHL ice-time. Realistically for Hutson or Reinbacher it's a year or 2 away, but Barron is definitely a player that's in that weird spot where AHL ice-time probably won't really benefit him much anymore so he would need more NHL ice-time and Struble showed flashes of that as well. Sure injuries help with NHL ice-time, but you can't depend on injuries to get young players ice-time.
  12. Yesterday
  13. Will Marchand even play in game 7? Not sure if any of you saw it but Marchand hilariously shoved a ref out of his way when he was in front of the Bruins bench because the ref was standing in the way of the door. He should get an automatic suspension for having shoved the ref in the way that he did. I laughed my ass off when I saw him do it because I could pretty much read his mind: "get outta my way you blind idiot"
  14. I guess I could have been clearer as there have been a few Big Bad Bruin teams. I will go back to the Wayne Cashman, Ken Hodge and Johnny Mckenzie teams. Orr and Espo also played on those teams.
  15. O'reilly and Johnathan days, or Jay Miller, Neely & Original Rat-Linseman ones?
  16. I have never liked the Bruins going way back to the Big Bad Bruin days, couldn't stand Lucic when he played for them but: 1) they have consistently been one of the better organizations in the NHL at building and maintaining a competitive team 2) I can't stand Jack Edwards, what a homer 3) I think Bergeron was one of the classiest guys around, had huge respect for him 4) I couldn't stand Marchand either but he plays with a lot of heart, he is a gamer, he shows up. Go Bruins against the Leafs and then go Florida against Boston. In between those 2 things, hopefully the Habs can win the lottery. A lot to hope for.
  17. Barring any trades signings..... Savard and Kovacevic are also pure RHD on the depth chart with NHL time. Guhle if playing RD is also ahead of him, and Jordan Harris is in this mix too. He's not defacto anything.... that spot is an open competition and he's the only one of the 5 who didn't spend the full season in the NHL this year.
  18. It won't. Its a 1/3rd buyout if done in June. Ages are all based on July 1st, 2023. This has come up with what is or isn't a 35+ contract. Everyone is the age they are on July 1st (the first day of the league year, so from July 1st 2023 to June 30th 2024, everyone is treated for CBA purposes as the age they are on July 1st, 2023). Everyone will go up one year on July 1st 2024. The issue is its a 2/3rd buyout if done in the second buyout window (which will open if the Kings have any of their RFAs file for arbitration).
  19. I haven't cared for the Leafs ever. I always thought the hype was media driven. I have always hated the Bruins, hated that Claude Julien had that stench on him when he cam back, specially since he dismissed the brawl where they pounded on a toothless Canadiens team the year they won the cup by injuring their players. I hated how much praise Patrice Bergeron got; often being called a genttleman. I hate that stuppid tune they play, the one other teams also play now.. I turn down the sound when at Habs games they play that DA, Da,DA... DA. DA-DA,-DA-da/da-da/da/da 💩 I hate that we have their past GM in the Habs office I have the Boston Bruins
  20. Interesting rankings of team prospect depth. I have no idea how this list was ranked but Habs at #2 and bruins dead last at 32.
  21. I didn’t know that there is a chance the buyout 1/3 option could be missed. It’s possible that a decision gets made for them. I wouldn’t doubt if the Kings are looking at a buyout but I doubt it happens.
  22. Yes. But even in that worst year the cap savings is almost $5M, not insubstantial. Only LAK management know whether the bumps are acceptable to them, but I do expect that they are at least evaluating the buyout option.
  23. Averaging is nice for budget purposes, but not salary cap purposes ... PLD's "1/3" buyout would have a cap hit ranging from a low of $1,530,952 to a high of $3,820,952 over the remaining term of the contract, then flatlines at $1,130,952 for the "extra" 7 seasons.
  24. AND, there is an open question whether Barron is effective as a Top 4 RD.
  25. Exactly ... almost like comparing murder (Laffs winning) to trespassing (BB's winning). 😉
