If there is a sequel, it won't even come close to the origional. The ability to surprise is gone. The newness which comes with a a totaly origional idea is what makes it atractive, or at least helps it become more apealing. Like I said before, if there is a sequel, I will probably be disapointed. I will pay to see it in a theatre though.

Plus they did the big salary dump with Vancouver.

I totally agree with you. I would hate to see a sequel. That was what I found intriguing. The end of this story is up to you. The way I saw it, The red dude and his kid go home, get reinforcements, land and take their aliens from district 10. We act like dicks, and they destroy us. Lol. Or not. The point is I think that a sequel will cheapen the origional, unless it can surprise. That's what is great about such an origional movie. I gave cloverfield about a 6, but I give District 9 a solid 8.5 out of ten.

The economics must be considered as well. The owner is broke. If I lent him money, I would want the guy who offered more money to get the team. Simple as that. After a major crash, you would think that the judge would be concerned about that part of it. 240 million to the creditors is more than 150 million. That's it.

I have a friend with season tickets in 330 AA. They are a little high, but they are great seats. He sells them to me for face value. The great thing about those seats is that you are right at the edge, so there is a lot of room. His are two in from the aisle and the washroom and beer stand are very close.I think I will come back to Montreal for another double header. The last time was one of my better memories.

I already said my thing about Basterds. I think that District 9 was awesome. Neill Blomkamp was fantastic. He went from a blundering fool to an action star. This movie intrigued me. I loved the animation. It was seamless. The plot was interesting. Hoping not to spoil here, but I thought the Racism thing went a bit far, but there is no way the plot could have gone the way it did without the racist tone. I don't know which one I would reccomend more. I think Basterds just because of Waltz's performance. Opinions?
-
Wow. Your analysis is spot on. I thought the exact same thing during the movie. Right from the opening to the tarentinoisms. My only difference is that I give it an 8 with Waltz and more like a 6 without him. He was brilliant. Regarding Tarantino, go watch True Romance, Resevoir Dogs, Rewatch Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill 1 and 2. Two is actually much better. His need for flashy dialogue can become pretentious and annoying, but the overall experience is campy, violent and enjoyable.

Ya. It's actually good for bringing up rookies. Load up on high rnd guys and fill the roster with rookies. Deadwood can go to Swedish Elite and KHL.

Chances are the facility is just run by Christians. The likelyhood of the team going to bible camp is low. Just a team building place to go that's close to Tarana, where they play their last game.

Confirmed?

I was a huge fan of Wamsley's idea. Load up on 1 and 2 year terms and wait for the cap to come down.

Name:BCHabnut Habs Cups witnessed: 4. That i clearly remember. I was too young before that. Which Habs will improve?: Latendresse, Lapierre, Price, Hamrlik, (please AK and Plek???) Which Habs will regress?: Cammalleri, D'Agostini, How will Martin do?: Martin will keep his emotion bottled up and he will actually explode during a game in 2011. It will be really messy. He has a big challenge, but I think he has the background to really help this club. I specifically recall old Sens interviews after the game. The entire team was working out directly after the game. We will take less penalties. We will allow less great shots on net. That defensive style will really help Price. How do I think the team will place?: Anywhere from 16th to 1st. There have been too many changes to even guess. Who will be the next Captain?: Markov. (if he wants it) If not, Markov, Gomez and Lapierre where the A. General chat about the coming season: I am very worried about Price. He needs to get back his mojo. If Price looks good, we will look good. It is key. I have supported keeping Price in net, and letting him take his lumps. See if he can rebound. Some say he is broken. I do not. Regarding the captain, I wish Lapierre was one or two season further in his developement. I actually expect him to get better under Martin. My hopes are high because I see on ice leadership qualities in him. He is not ready this year for the C. I am very concerned about playing Cammalleri with AK and Plek. Unless they can pick up their socks, I see Camm becoming disgruntled. His production will go down playing with AK and Plek. He had Frolov feeding him, but specifically Iggy. If he doesn't play with Gomez, I am very concerned about his production. Plek has shown his flare in the past, and never stopped working. If he can find chemistry with Cam, that is the best scenario. I like Lattendresse. I know he is slow, but he is working very hard for his top 6 appointment. Give it to him. His numbers are good especcially when you consider who he plays with most of the time. I keep hearing how Max should be top 6. I think Max should get some more time in the AHL. Lats is a good hockey player, and will get better under Martin. He is our only hope for a full time top 6 power forward. Give this kid top 6 minutes. He deserves it. I would support having Max on the team, but his pro time is low and will allow him to come up and down without waivers. Andrei Kostitsyn. If he doesn't come out of his shell, I will be very concerned. We need him to wake up! wake up! Guys are going to hit you really hard. Don't let that stop you from using your talent. Be great.

Saw it in a blog, but looked all over and couldn't find anything.

Kovy Wants To Finish His Career In Montreal
BCHabnut replied to l<OV4L3V's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
There is no question that they were a better team with Kovy. It is now up to Gionta to prove they are now a better team without him. -
PK Subban and other rookies pose for Upper Deck
BCHabnut replied to Habitforming's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Ya, I have been burned before with kids from WJC, but I am more excited about Subaan than I have been since Price. Honestly that's how I feel. Markov snuck up on me, and I wasn't expecting much from him. He's a big spirited guy with obvious leadership skill. Even if he was pretty obnoxious after the tourney. I can't wait. -

Kovalev was one of my favorites. Gionta better prove worthy. All he was doing was telling the Montreal media that he didn't leave out of greed. That he was looking for security. He didn't necesarily choose Ottawa, but after holdong out so long, he thought he better sign before deals run out. What's the problem? He's too honest. I am going to miss him. I hope we have replaced him, because he was our best forward for 5 years. I am honestly not impressed by Gionta in the least. Maybe (hopefully) I will be proven wrong. Kovalev always does stuff like this. He doesn't know when to be quiet. -
PK Subban and other rookies pose for Upper Deck

He definitely has character. I think I am going to like him. -
I heard he's not a leader, and doesn't have team mate respect and doesn't speak french and he's too finnish...
-
I have to admit that it is very hard. I was interviewed by cbc in edmonton last year, and they asked if I would like to try it in french. I was very afraid. My vocabulary is horrible, and I don'\t know if I could do it. Living there and using basic comunication should help. As I said, many spanish words sound a lot like french words. To me, I think the school system failied us. Up to grade 11 they should have just bombarded us with vocabulary. Just throw the words together. Who cares if it is correct grammer. Learn the grammer later. At least people will be able to follow what you say.
-
I don't know which one I watched. I always lke authenticity in movies. I would get the one where French guys are speaking French and English guys are speaking English.
-
Well, if he knows spanish already, French will be a breeze. Some vocabulary will get him stuck, but the languages are very close.

Habs pull even with Leafs on CBC
BCHabnut replied to The Chicoutimi Cucumber's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
The Sens are in the East too. They should get an equal number of games. As far as quality, Hughson is the best in the business. Too bad Cole is the worst in the business. I do like cbc buildup to the game, and they always show the national anthems. -
I think that Plek can pull out of it. I think you will see him get 60 pts this year depending on his line mates. If Cam plays with Gionta and Gomez, then I wouldn't even expect 60. I think the guy we should all be worried about is Kostitsyn. At least Plek put in 100% effort every night. Hopefully Martin can have then working together. Plek will fit in great with Martin's system of defensive responsibility. AK not so much...ish. I am really counting on praying that this is AK's year.

Thiis is the line up that I like. I don't know if Laps can handle 2nd line C, but I believe he has the tools.
