I think Hutson and Mailloux are boom or bust prospects - they could be first pairing offensive stars or barely serviceable NHLers. Hutson especially at this point is putting up superstar numbers but his size might not translate to the pros. Roy and Kidney are probably third liners at best, but they could break out and surprise us.

Wow, Bedard hits 70 goals. I remember the last time a draft prospect hit 70, he was more overlooked than Bedard but has panned out well in the pros (so far).

Matheson is the best skater we've seen on the blueline since PK. What a pickup for a declining and want-away Petry.

A few years ago with a bare prospect cupboard I'd be much more excited about this signing, but we have so many young defenders ahead of him he'll have to really distinguish himself to make the big squad. Hopefully he'll be a great example of our new developmental system.

Long-suffering? They barely suffer at all. Hockey is an afterthought there. A superstar like Bedard would help that, but it will never come close to football, basketball and baseball. That's true for almost every American market though.

Nice play on the goal from Pitlick, and Gurianov can wire it. Anderson continues his strong form, he's taken big steps forward this season in passing vision and defense. He should be worth a pirate's ransom to a contending team.

That's excessive, no one should be pushed that far with nothing on the line. On the plus side, his value around the league if we were to ever entertain trading him must be through the roof.

Raanta made two huge saves to keep this closer than it could be. TSN and RDS were ballyhooing how KK's line hadn't given up a goal against until tonight - they'd only been together for a couple of weeks and had scored eight goals for; nothing impressive, and they promptly surrender one to this AHL lineup. Let's hope for many more goals and a 7-6 regulation loss!

Kovacevic dropped the gloves so much earlier than Martinez, I think that was why there was no instigator called.

Perfect result! Hoffman nearly tied it up in the final minute but the hockey gods kept it out. Matheson looks like he has 50-point potential in a healthy lineup, he was our best player today.
