  1. Well, we're lucky to come out of that period with the lead. Once again our fourth line is strong. And our powerplay is looking good.
  2. I wouldn't want to give up on Lats. I think he'll continue to develop and become a stronger offensive force, like it's been said power forwards often are late bloomers and the guy is only 21. He should really be getting top minutes in Hamilton, but oh well.
  3. Tanguay plays his former team. Phaneuf had some really nice things to say about Hamrlik as well. This'll be a tough game, we're going to have to work hard.
  4. Man, the internet seems to churn out ten of these moronic rankings per day.
  5. Another decent effort, not terrible not great. Our powerplay is the main thing that's keeping us from where we were last year, it's the difference between 3-2 and 5-2 in a game like this.
  6. It's all Benoit Brunet's fault. And the terrible blasphemy that is Yvon at the CBC.
  7. I used to hate him too, but nowadays I like him. He's generally pretty knowledgeable, but prone to man-crushes, admittedly. I have no idea how Dreger got on your 'respected' list, he's a pea-brained tool. He never has anything of consequence to say. God what a moron, they should pelt his face with rotten tomatoes when he launches into another vapid 'Insider' spiel, it would be so fitting.
  8. Hopefully he's just getting them all out of his system early in the year.
  9. Hey how bout that, a win! Overall this one kind of reminded me of the Boston game in that we gave a pretty good effort but neither team was exactly clicking on all cylinders. We got the better bounces this time with a couple of garbage goals. Poor O'Byrne, he plays a solid game and then ends the night with another humiliating gaffe, at least it didn't cost us. Good to see our boys working hard.
  10. He deserves 3 games, and I wouldn't have objected if it was more. That was a dirty play, and we'd be outraged if one of our guys was on the receiving end and had to miss more than a month.
  11. Ridiculous too, but the all-star game is a joke anyways.
  12. The Gazette is a rag. The only thing worthwhile about it is the Habs coverage, but even that's getting obsolete what with the internet.
  13. I only caught the third period, which was fun. Very sloppy play on both sides, and we have Upshall to thank for that boneheaded play on Komi's goal. We didn't really dominate the period as much the score would indicate; Philly missed some open nets and easy chances, we were lucky in that regard. Price was solid, and I think he's just getting comfortable at this point and will improve as the season progresses. He definitely outplayed Biron in this one, which should usually be enough for our team to beat theirs.
  14. There's a trend developing... Robert Lang - 82 goals Everyone else - 0
  15. Entertaining game, too bad we couldn't come away with two points. The shot totals don't really tell the story, we probably had at least as many chances as the Sabres, but couldn't capitalize. Price was solid, but did a Huet impersonation in the shootout. It was good to see the Lang line work well. Koivu's line didn't do much of anything, Tanguay and Lats were pretty useless.
  16. He's already on a similar level to Rivet, except with a GOOD team and a good deal.
  17. Don't underestimate Simple Plan's capacity to suck. This song could be so bad we'll be hoping for scoreless shootout wins. This move just tarnishes everything. We're going to hear this stupid whiny group over and over again, and it takes away from the whole aura of class and achievement that we're supposed to be celebrating with the centennial.
  18. You know what else is more affordable to rich folks? I'll give you three guesses... and they'll all be right.
  19. I liked what I saw of Chips last season, especially around the time they sent him down. He deserves a better shot, I think he'll be a good player.
  20. Yeah, I didn't like what I saw from Tangy, he messed up more often than not.
  21. Still, that's a big weight on your mind. And I feel bad for the kid, can't help but think he won't have as much of a fatherly presence as he would have if Lats were in his late 20s or 30s. Hard on the mother, too (who I assume is roughly the same age).
  22. He'll go to the Rangers in December.
