  1. Of course Buffalo will improve next year, they had one of the worst seasons ever in the cap era. I agree, they are still not a team to fear by any means.
  2. Resigning Markov is huge news for this hockey team for many of the reasons posted already. You simply cannot let an asset like that walk away for nothing. Despite a slight decline in foot speed, he is still a top tier dman in the league. Montreal has been a top powerplay team for a long time and the only constant has been Markov. His defensive game is very underrated and his vision is as good as it's ever been. Not to mention he is a life long Hab and you can't put a price tag on defining a team culture. It says something about an organization when a player takes the same salary that he has taken for the last x amount of years because he is comfortable and likes where he is, even though he could have got more elsewhere.
  3. Plekanec and a pick/prospect for Wheeler would be great
  4. Players I would have a conversation with about signing this year: Iginla Callaghan Vrbata Downie S. Koivu J. Jokinen Mitchell Orpik
  5. I agree with all except Weaver. 2m tops, likely 1.5-1.75m
  6. Briere at $4m for two years isn't bad at all. He is on the decline yes, that's why he only got $4m instead of the $7m he was previously signed to. At least we didn't sign Lecavalier for 5 years.
  7. Whatever happens this off season I have faith in Bergevin, he seems to be a visionary. I can't recall a single move he has made that I didn't like at the time or that it turned out bad.
  8. What the hell am I reading here? This team wasn't "supposed" to make the playoffs, let alone make it to game 6 of the Eastern final. Those throwing them under the bus didn't mind the ride all the way here so why don't you shut up and appreciate the run that we went on. We were beat fair and square, time to tip your hat and stop blaming people.
  9. Not a bad road period, generated some chances. Although they are looking for the perfect pass rather than shooting
  10. Lol, yeah I would probably take a mulligan on that if I could go back in time, I regret it now. Rather than continue the evening we were having I casually mentioned there was a hockey game I wanted to watch. Haven't seen her since lol
  11. I think it's a combination of the Rangers playing just about the best that they can and the Habs playing somewhere in the middle of their capabilities. The last half of game 4 was the best that we have looked all series. Keep playing like that and it will be interesting, I just hope that it's not too late
  12. Thus far this playoffs I have given up work shifts, traded work shifts, gone in early or stayed late, ditched a hot date, and bailed on a softball tournament just to be able to watch every game. I can't imagine missing this one for 1 shitty softball game
  13. How about a round of applause for Mike Weaver who is a +8 thus far in the playoffs? No one is even close to that number on the team. What a pickup at the deadline for Bergevin. While we are at it how about some boos for Plekanec and his -7, and again no one is close. For someone that is considered a high level defensive player, he isn't living up to expectations.
  14. I think it was great the way it happened moving forward. That late Ranger goal must have been terribly deflating to the group that hasn't had many bounces thus far in the series. But to be able to suck it up and win the game is a huge boost to their confidence. This game in my opinion was the worst game they played this playoffs but they were still able to get the win. This bodes well for the rest of the series.
  15. Vanek is playing as if he is drunk. Not only is his compete level not there, but he can't make or receive a pass and looks completely lost out there.
  16. Well this is the season right here. A win and we are right back in the series, a loss and not much chance of coming back. Gallagher Boyle
  17. Habs just look very slow out there and the lack of speed stems from the back end. They are stationary when retrieving the puck and the ol' flip shot off the glass isn't doing it against this Ranger forecheck. Vanek is terrible out there, he cannot even make a pass nor receive a pass and should be benched.
  18. I do not think I have wanted to win a game in my life as much as this one
  19. I thought it was yet another tight game with few chances generated between the two teams. I think from a Montreal prospective, they now need to switch from a "business" approach, to an emotional approach. They got pissed off the last bit of the game and they finally started looking good.
  20. Excellent logic. Regardless if we are the best team in the world or not, you don't want the Captain back, who has been a warrior. Even if he drinks from Lord Stanley's Cup, it's adios amigo, I want some new tall player blood!
  21. Too bad they didn't play with the intensity they played with in the last few minutes the entire game.
  22. Alot of good posts about Murray on here. I thought that he played about as good of a game as Douglas Murray can play. That being said, I don't think that his game fit into the style of play that we have been playing thus far. He stood out like a sore thumb. I had no beefs with Frankie in the line up and wouldn't be surprised to see him back in there. I also thought that Beaulieu played really well down the stretch in the few opportunities he had and could generate a bit more offense from the back end. His skating is good enough that he could get back on a play if need be and who knows, he could be the difference like Fraser coming into the lineup. This game was one of the tightest and closest games I've seen in a long time. Both teams played well enough to win, although I thought Boston had a few better chances to score. Habs just couldn't get any traction and it seemed like the puck was a step ahead of them offensively. I don't think there is any fundamental issues, it was just one of those games.
  23. You must have missed the part when he had a scoring chance but passed it Markov who was going for a line change
