  1. I don't think Burke will match ... I don't think he would want to tie that kind of money in Penner when they just signed burtuzzi ... if Niedermeyer comes back they won't have any room if they take that Penner contract. Same with Selanne. I can see Burke taking those pics and packaging them for a cheaper replacement for Penner.
  2. My question is why were they having a bachlor party in Minnesota ??? why not NY or Florida or some place like that.
  3. But how do you build a grass goots program without a team ? the team is the "seed" and it needs time to grow it's roots. It needs to be fed and taken care of , not taken out of the ground before it's had a chance to grow it's flower.
  4. Maybe ask him if he would entertain the idea of moving to foward.
  5. I highly doubt that Selanne is going anywhere other than back to the ducks or retireing.
  6. Will you sign up for HabsWorld and join us in our habs discussion's since your such a big habs fan ?

  8. its' just something the kings do ... they seem to sign players right away rather than waiting.

  10. Wow ... bold move for a GM that's angry and desperate.
  11. what was the context behind this? he's been sent out of the game and making a show??? I was at that game ... here's the senario .... The game was in Las Vegas , in and arena that's inside a hotel ( MGM Grand arena ), it's a pre-season game and the glass just popped out of place. Unfortunatly the people that maintain the rink didn't have a great time replacing the glass ... it took forever ... all the players were just standing around ... Roenick went over to the glass to help and people started cheering ... The rink then started playing " Stayin Alive " by the Beegees and Roenick started shaking his tail over by the glass ... so everyone started to cheer louder and basically this happened Roenick + boredom + " Stayin Alive " = Dancing video Roenick was an awesome player ... it's just unfortunate that he wasn't able to play to his early year level near the end ... he was a pure sniper back in Chicago and a player that would love to hit.

  13. Yes but they have the cap room to do it ... Before the lockout a team like the Rangers would already be at a $50 mil payroll then sign players like Drury and Gomez to those kind of contracts. That's the difference.
  14. Wait ... wasn't they're a lockout ?
  15. Must be nice to be a hockey player in Montreal
  16. From the TSN article TSN " Balsillie and Leipold refused to comment on the report although a spokesperson for Leipold said he was unware of any changes to the current plan to sell the team to the Research-In-Motion co-founder. " How do we really know what's going on, we don't ... how do we know that this isn't a way to push Baslillie to hury up and lay down a concrete offer ? The puck is on Basillie's stick .. what he does with it is up to him. If he wants that team bad enough he'll write a check for it today. If not then somone will.
  17. maybe if we can get Zubrus and Begin to some how merge into one player then yes
  18. Hopefully someone takes one or both of them so they don't have to be bought out B)
  19. offended you as a hockey fan ? or as a person ?
  20. 6:03: Hmmmm ... the Rangers already had a sweater ready with Cherepanov's name on the back. That's a little fishy. How did they know a top-five guy would slip to No. 17? If Esposito "drops" to the Penguins at No. 20, we'll have moved right into the Fishy Zone -- two marquee teams "fortunately" getting two marquee prospects? Even David Stern wouldn't have been this blatant. Then again, this would mean Bettman is working to make the league better and more interesting. Scratch that thought See PTG ... Bettman is making the league better ! btw that was a very funny read .. good find les_glorieux
  21. Well if Baslillie wants the team then he should put his money where his mouth is and offer a formal bid. I highly doubt anyone else would buy the team for as much as Basillie is offering, Basillie was a little too "up front". If he had only mentioned the fact that he would look into the possibility of moving the team if the lease fell though he might have got a different reaction from everyone. Especially from the guy who owns the team now.
  22. Ok question for you then .. if you were the owner of the Predators and you wanted to sell ... a guy comes in and says " I want to buy your team " ... never puts down a formal offer, blabs to everyone that he intends to move the team, starts to sell tickets for that " moved team " steps on the leagues toes and basically pisses off your fans in Nashville by all the moving babble. Wouldn't you be pissed ? Wouldn't you want a formal offer for the team ? what would have happened if Baslilie had pulled out and not Leopold ? Leopold would be left with a bunch of pissed off fans in a place where it's already hard to get people and businesses to buy tickets. maybe if Basillie has kept his mouth shut until after he submitted a formal offer to buy the team, waited for it to get approved. then he could have talked about moving the team to Hamilton ... it would have been his choice if Nashville didn't abide buy the lease terms. And Basillie isn't completely out of the picture. All Bettman said is he thought is was a little premature to start talking about moving a franchise when said buyer hasn't even put down a formal bid.
  23. I've only ever heard Bettman say is was premature to discuss the predators moving to Hamilton because the two owners hadn't even come and agreement on the sale yet.
