Agreed. Max I would go with Gallagher is 5 years...maybe 6 years. I love the guy, but but 8 years would be way too long!

I read from Arpon Basu of the Athletic that apparently the final two years of the contract, his salary is much lower, meaning that if he does slow down alot in teh final years, he'll be easier to trade!

I must say, the more I read about this guy, the more I like the trade. If he can average 25 goals and 25 assists per season, I'll be happy!

Have to say i'm a little surprised we picked a dman. I was under the impression we needed scoring up front. Not saying I don't like the pick, because from what I've read about Guhle, I like what I see! Let's hope it won't take him 5-6 years to become a solid dman on our blue line!

Anyone think that Bergevin made this trade because he had contract talks with Domi and realized they were too far appart to come to an agreement and just decided to trade him for Anderson? IN other words, was willing to get a little less for Domi knowing he wouldn't be able to sign him long term...

I thought Columbus was giving us a 3rd round pick. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. True that Anderson has size that we really need up front, but I checked out his stats, and it's not very impressive. With the exception of 2018, he's never scored more than 20 goals in a season...and he's 26 yesars old. Also, I have to admit, I was hoping that the Habs could use DOmi to get Ehlers out of Winnipeg. I'm well aware that it would have taken more than just DOmi, but we could've packaged him with a high draft pick and a good young dman!

I have to say I really like this signing. Petry could've easily gotten 5 years at 7 million per year on the open market. Well done MB!

I guess what I was trying to say is that if I had to choose between Laine and Huberdeau, I think i'd prefer Laine. Mostly because of his age. I agree that over the past 3 seasons, Huberdeau has been pretty dominant! Would love to see him in a Habs jersey, but what would we have to give up to get him? Would it be as costly as getting Laine?

Agreed in that what I had proposed didn't feel like it would be enough to get Laine out of Winnipeg. However, I do disagree with you on the fact that Domi couldn't be a major part of a trade for Laine. He would be a perfect fit in Winnipeg. Maybe we would have to give Domi, Petry and a 1st round pick...and maybe even have to add a young dman like Fleury... I also agree that we shouldn't trade Romanov, but you know what they say, you gotta give something to get something!

I like those names except for Tarasenko. I wonder how much truth there is to the rumours that the Habs are talking to the Jets about Laine? That would be a huge upgrade up front. Obviously I think it would be very expensive to get Laine out of Winnipeg...probably something like Domi, Romanov and a very high pick (2nd round pick, maybe even a first round pick). What do y'all think? I also Like Huberdeau...it's just that he's already 27 years old...we would only be getting 5-6 "good" years out of him!

Normally i'd be one of those people complaining about his small size, but I really like this pick. I saw a few of the goals he scored this season, and I have to saw I was impressed. The kid has a wicked wrist shot. Can score from almost anywhere! All the experts say that this was a steal for the Habs. Caufield should have been drafted in the top 10 but dropped right into our laps at 15. Beautiful!

I just saw that that the Habs have a 1% chance of getting the first pick, a 1.1% chance of getting the second pick and a 1.2% chance of picking third. Lastly, a 96.7% chance of picking 15th! Basically, if the Habs logo doesn't pop up for the 15th pick, it automatically means we have a top 3 pick! I'm not gonna get my hopes up by thinking we might pick in the top 3...15th in this years draft is supposed to be a very good pick!
