brobin
Rangers are starting to push harder.. good thing Halak is looking sharp or the Rangers could be up by 3 now... I noticed the Rangers are doing a much better job of blocking shots then we are...
Sir_Boagalott
wth was that Gorges. Hit him damn it. First of all its Avery, he's small, secondly, its Avery. Smoke him. That whole sequence could have been stopped before it started had Gorges not let Avery get around him and start it up.
brobin
yikes... good start.. now NYR are all over our D.. can't get it out of our end.. guy all alone in front.. brutal defensive play tonight...

BRUTALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way, it was Gorges who messed up is how Plex ended up with the puck and buddy make a nice catch to keep it in, and then Gorges again when the puck went behind the net to the Rags. Gorges didnt skate hard after the puck so it went right to the Rags.

brobin
This game is reminding me of the Vancouver game at times... just brutal defensively... Edited October 24, 2009 by brobin

johnnyhasbeen
Great start to a bad period of hockey. Kostitsyn is useless!

Gorges didnt skate hard after the puck so it went right to the Rags. well apparently the cbc crew and me thought it was mainly plekanec's fault... so you are out numbered. Gill was behind net for 10 seconds waiting for forwards to get set up or come back to support him.. Plex was by side boards twiddling his thumbs .. he has speed.. go back there Gill leaves puck for him and Plex skates out of zone with speed and/or passes it forward getting it out of the zone.. he's as useless as Gill. KoZed
The forwards will have to be quicker in the defensive zone to support the D's because the Rags' forwards are putting the pressure on all the time. It'd also help if our D's could make a pass. Gorges and Gill are just brutal with the puck.
BCHabnut
This is looking scarey. Defensive support is nill.
Sir_Boagalott
It was a really good period but 2 blunders by Gorges in the same shift wrecked it all. We're lucky its not 4-1 thanks to Gorges being soft on Avery and letting him walk around him in the corner that started a prolonged cycling sequence for the Rags. The CBC announcers are on crack if theyre saying it was Gill, it was Gorges. and Gorges bobbled the puck and lost it, then Plex picked it up and had a unsuccessful clearing attempt. Just because buddy made a nice play to keep it in doesnt mean the clearing attempt was weak. Later when the puck went behind the net Gorges should have got it long before it reached the Rag who passed it out front but Gorges lallygagged and a goal was scored. KoZed
Anyone else thinks Lats is playing injured? He's usually solid on his skates and hard to move. Since 2-3 games he's losing his balance at a mere push. Not very useful if you're a grinding winger and can't take a hit without spinning off balance. brobin
It would be easier to mention the guys playing well defensively tonight, rather then arguing about who is sucking.. they are all sucking tonight...
