BCHabnut
Can Konopka skate and play defensive? His Face offs and fighting are promising.
Chris
I hope he would. Most teams play around 16 back to back games, i am not a fan of palying your goalie 2 nights in a row. If Price goes down they are hosed. i wouldn't mind Cole for 2 years
RobRock
Dreger reporting Habs closing in on Cole... I'd love it if he could get that deal closed. What a great influence he'd be on Pacioretty.
Chris
Yes, konopka is a solid 4th liner. He does take some dumb penalties, that's his weak spot.
BCHabnut
Dreger reporting Habs closing in on Cole... I watched a lot of Cole in Edmonton. I wasn't overly impressed. Maybe he would be a better fit in Mtl. Ok get Konopka and Cole and call er a day. This is easy
bbp
Dreger reporting Habs closing in on Cole... Well that is a no brainer that Montreal would be in on him, people are getting picked up quick hope we sign someone else soon.
lazy26
Wow Talbot brings 9 million in 3 years? Lol 5 years, I believe.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Budaj: upgrade on Auld, could maybe handle a stretch as injury replacement in the #1 role, but no threat to Price. Decent acquisition. Cole: slightly risky because of his travails in Edmonton, but as a player, just what the doctor ordered. That'd be an ideal signing. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Steve Sullivan to Pittsburgh, 1 year $1.5 million Smart signing by them. Cheap player, track record of offensive success, partially addresses team weakness on W.
BCHabnut
So how many of you guys are watching the TSN UFA tracker like a hawk?
ForumGhost
Does anyone have Cole's career numbers against Montreal?
RobRock
With Budaj, I think it allows you to stack Price's games better, give him a little more time off in the middle of the season and let him play more into the last month of the season. The key will be the chemistry between him and Budaj. Auld knew he was a back-up and could sit for long stretches of time. Budaj wants to be a starter again, is he going to be able to sit and watch for such long stretches of time?
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
So how many of you guys are watching the TSN UFA tracker like a hawk? I just follow this site, to be honest. Now I'm anxious about Cole and the paranoia that we'll lose him. Typical UFA day neurosis.

Chris
Dreger and mckenzie say Cole is very close. Apparenty they also report the habs made a strong offer for Konopka. I would be impressed if they got both.

BCHabnut
Wow UFAs are gerting a fortune this year. Joel Ward to Washingtom for 4 years and 3 million per? 10 goals and 29 points.

Dalhabs
AWMAGAWD! Im afraid of a SERIOUS overpayement of Eric Cole. Hammer got 3.5M/year for Washington two years... happy we didnt get that. NOT as happy about the money for Cole.
BCHabnut
4.5 million a year for 4 years? Wow! That's insane.
Chris
Why? Cole is a high end and playoff performer. he has great size and speed. Granted he was playing with Staal. AK46 is slightly less maney and that guy is invisible half the year.
BCHabnut
One or the other would have been fine but big termmand big money
