The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Is there any sign of the Habs doing anything so far, other than striking out with Jagr and Torres (either of whom would have been welcome additions)? Rumours, anything?
saskhab
No signs of anything, just that Florida is trying to get to the cap floor ASAP.

dlbalr
Reports of Jan Hejda to Colorado, one of the more underrated D on the market this year. $3.25 M, noteworthy as he'll be an interesting comparison for Gorges.

Chris
Varlomov to Colorado for a 1st and 2nd. Brunette to Chicago Goc to Florida
saskhab
Varlomov to Colorado for a 1st and 2nd. For a lotto pick and a 2nd. Wow. WAY worse than the Kessel trade.
Helmethead
For a lotto pick and a 2nd. Wow. WAY worse than the Kessel trade. Geez who the hell is running the show there? One on the worst trades recently. Makes you think we got fleeced by St Louis in the Halak trade. Was Varlamov an RFA? How many years left on his contract? bbp
For a lotto pick and a 2nd. Wow. WAY worse than the Kessel trade. Thats a wild trade! Not like Varlamov is even a really proven number 1!

lazy26
Ok, so what's realistically left for us? Fleischmann? Leino?
saskhab
Ok, so what's realistically left for us? Fleischmann? Leino? Gagne, Miettinen, Richards (we had representatives there), Cole, Ward, Bergenheim, Handzus, Arnott, Connolly, Rupp, Bergfors (could be a steal)... We'll see on D. I think Andy Greene would be a good Hamr replacement. Or come back with Hamr. Hannan and Kaberle options as well.
RobRock
Greene re-signed with NJ, 4-yrs but no money announced Boucher in Carolina, $1.9 million for 1 year Habs sign Budaj, $2.3 million over 2 years
BCHabnut
Wow Talbot brings 9 million in 3 years? Lol Budaj? He wasn't really on my radar. I hink he has shown signs of being able to do the job.
RobRock
interesting UFA defensemen Hnidy - BOS Martinek - NYI Hale - OTT Mara and Sopel could also be re-signed. Also have to remember that Emelin is finally making the trip across the pond Talbot is $9 million over 5 years, which is pretty reasonable
saskhab
Rupp gets $1.5m a year. And people will still complain about Moen making that money. Even though Moen >>> Rupp.

Chris
They have 7 D now assuming Gorges is back. I don't think they go for D, Budaj is really streaky. he is an ok back up. hopefully he can get 20 games I think a grinder and they'll take a shot at Leino or Gagne
RobRock
Commodore to WIngs for $1 million for one year

Would Budaj even get 20 games or more in the 10-15 range?
