Lovett's Magnatones
It's not a big game unless Weise scores!

dlbalr
No mention of Parenteau being out anywhere on HW, not even in the injury thread. He's someone who needs to find another gear. He's mentioned in the injury thread and on the main site in the injuries box as well as listed as injured in the first post of the GDT. As for the game itself, I didn't think it was that bad of a first period despite it taking so long to get a shot. Aside from the Stamkos look in front (on the PP?), that was their only truly dangerous chance so it's not as if the Habs were on their heels all period long. Subban's having a rough game though. Habs30/31
Powerplay had Markov with Gonchar.... Gilbert with PK. NB ?
dlbalr
Powerplay had Markov with Gonchar.... Gilbert with PK. NB ? 2nd powerplay yes, 1st powerplay saw the regular pairings (including Beaulieu with Gonchar), albeit that 2nd pairing only seeing a bit of time with Subban/Markov getting the bulk of the ice time. dlbalr
By the way, the penalty kill did a nice job - 3:30 of consecutive time shorthanded (including 30 seconds of 5-on-3) and only three shots allowed, only the one really being that dangerous. DON
Nice to see Weise rewarded with goal, he continues to do well with icetime given him.
brobin
Nice....no call on the interference at one end, Tampa scores ten seconds later.

Habinator33
What the hell was Subban thinking? This is an important game for us and thats how you are acting on the bench?
Lovett's Magnatones
I wouldn't mind seeing DD center the first line for a few shifts. Galchenyuk hasn't created much of anything the last few games. If DD were this stale we would be all over him.
brobin
And they are choking.... Down 3-1 and over the glass.... So much for first in the east or the 17 wins record...

brobin
4-1. Fell apart starting with bad penalties. This smells of another blowout to Tampa.

dlbalr
What the hell was Subban thinking? This is an important game for us and thats how you are acting on the bench? That was completely and utterly inexcusable. A big thumbs down to Therrien for not even sitting him for a shift. Frankly, a move like that warrants a benching for the rest of the period and the sad thing is, they'd probably only be down two if he had as Subban was largely responsible for the 3rd goal as well. (While the team is backchecking on an odd-man rush, Subban's falling over himself to pick up his stick in the offensive zone. If he turns around and gets a stick on the way back, they could have played the rush much better.) His head is simply not where it needs to be tonight. Habs30/31
Tbay has not had a great pp on the road, but it is was working in that period.
dlbalr
Saw markov get interfered with at the gate, but missed what Subban did and was subsequently penalized for??? After the whistle, Subban reached across from the bench and hit a Tampa player with his stick on their bench. That's an automatic penalty and a really, really dumb one at that. He fell. Slow to get up, fumbling for his stick, and out of breath. ouch!

I didn't really mind the pinch all that much, he had a good chance of getting there first. Everything past that point though left a lot to be desired as you noted.
