Dach’s development is almost as important organizationally as Slaf’s, and he looks to be blossoming. Why mess with that?? I continue to advocate for Slaf to be sent down and learn how to dominate the North America professional game, but have grown resigned to the probability that management disagrees. Agree 100% with all of this.

Completely agree. 100% agree on leaving Dach where he is. Let out three young guns rack up points. i had hoped Slafkovsky would have been sent down even before he scored his first goal. I se no issue starting him up for 3 or 4 games, but would have preferred to let him get a ton of minutes at this point in his career.

Yup a 21 year old who could blossom into a PPG player (ceiling wise). He was a third overall pick in a strong year and could easily be as valuable as the 1st overall guy in a weak year
Neech
I think Slaf will eventually spend some time in Laval to get big minutes, but for now he's still progressing at the NHL level and learning from our NHL coaching staff. The AHL team seems like a bit of a mess at the moment so maybe it's best to wait till they get right before sending our prize prospect there. Don't hold your breath on that one, they're not that good of a team this year. They might be slightly underachieving but they have a weaker roster than last year in terms of potential for success in the standings. Commandant
I don't know that they are a mess. They just aren't a talented AHL team. Good prospects, yes, but not a lot of good veteran AHLers, and its those players who are found on most winning AHL teams. We pushed some of them out to make room for prospects, which makes sense. The coaching there is still very good though.
tomh009
Richard looks to be working out well, though. Does he still have NHL bottom-six potential or is this his ceiling?

He's someone that could come up for a few games and hold his own in the role that Belzile held previously though.
