JMMR
Habs aquire Defenceman Todd Simpson for a 6th round pick in 2006. Edited March 9, 2006 by JMMR
gohabsgo252006
According to tsn.ca Assets Is as tough as nails and very competitive. Always shows great team skills. Can be a very effective defensive defenseman, especially when laying on the body on a regular basis. Flaws Can get burned by faster forwards in the NHL and occasionally takes bad penalties. Needs to avoid more concussion problems. Career potential No. 6 or 7 defenseman. Looks like BG might be working on some more deals imo

JMMR
Yes this does seem like an odd trade for the Canadiens because the Habs already have 3 or 4 #5 or #6 defenseman.

sakiqc
He says Simpson can't help the team now, that he is more there "in case" and that he'll probably report to the AHL
Prime Minister Koivu
For a 6th round draft pick. Good for the price.

gohabsgo252006
why was this thread moved to NHL talk...it's habs move and should be back in the habs talk thanks I think this adds more depth and toughness, which after the game against the Leafs was clearly apparent on our D
Prime Minister Koivu
Come on PMK this is now the third thred started on this topic you are over 10 minutes late. WTF? The other thread wasn't there when I posted this... Am I going ? this could be a pick up so we can trade Dandy away (with Abisher whatever sp?) to Vancouver for Bert. bombTHEice
What are we doing with such a slow defender? Heck, Bouillon is a much better choice than this guy. Maybe he should help the Bulldogs or will he be shipped out of town in a bigger move?

Maybe he should help the Bulldogs or will he be shipped out of town in a bigger move? Or maybe he's here to fill a hole because Souray is heading out of town? Simpson is a left-shooting D, like Souray, Bouillon and Markov. I dont see him pass any of those three in the depth chart.

I saw that too, As far as i was concerned after hiw review of that trade Flynn might be the dumbest person ever to be allowed to write an article for anyone. The guy knows nothing, all of us talking on this forum know more than he does... Why didn't we just get Luongo, Jokinen and 2 first round picks for theo.
