dark_faerie87
Who are you guys talking about? Jennifer Connelly? That would be the name.
mathieu30
Yeah, just like Fanpuck said. If you don't like Spiderman, you probably won't like any comic book movie. Spiderman is recognized as one of the best comic book movies out there. Well maybe I’m the exception, but I saw Spiderman 2 yesterday and I enjoyed it. Not bad. I'd rate it better than Spiderman (1). I meant the franchise, not the movie. Spidey 2 is generally regarded as a better movie then Spidey 1. Both are fantastic though as a certified Webhead. GO :hlogo: GO! Personally speaking, it felt more like a video game than an actual movie with all the slow-motion kills and decapitations and general blood flying about. The acting was decent, but in my opinion most of the movie felt forced and contrived, almost as if the people involved were trying too hard to make it "epic." Everything you saw was ripped straight from the novel with LOTS of ideas going through Miller as he is wary about his work being turned into movies. Rodriguez went through leaps and bounds to get him to ok a Sin City movie. Snyder is a getting a whole hell lot of praise in the comic book community though. So if you've got a problem, take it up with the original work.
BTH
I thought 300 was incredible. Way better than your average action movie.

Doktor Kosmos
I rented Casino Royale. I'd rate it 3 on a scale from 1 to 5. There were things I liked, things I disliked and then there were things I feel indefferent about. A thing I did not like was that they changed the game from bacarat to ######in' no-limit hold'em. Frankly I feel this change is a bit of a sellout, so to speak. Another change I didn't fancy was the relocation. Why did they move the Casino Royale from France to Montenegro? I don't know what I think about the torture scene. A bit of a cop-out - even if I can understand that you can't show anything in a common action movie, I had at least expected to be more shocked by watching the scene. Perhaps I've just seen too many action movies. While the film seems to have stayed very true to the book, this scene was much more interesting to read. In the movie it felt like it was over before it had even started. I did like Daniel Craig as Bond, think he did a very nice job - possibly the best Bond ever actually, at least as far as staying true to the book. Sean Connery used to be my favorite (emphasis on used to). To be honest I think Craig's acting is better than Connery's. Roger Moore and Remington Steele seem like pretty-boys in comparison. Personally I was never a fan of Lazenby either, but for some reason I did like Timothy Dalton. Well, I think I have a new favorite now. I don't know if I would call Craig handsome, he seems more rugged somehow. I also think Judi Dench was good, as always, and Eva Green too. At first I didn't care for Vesper Lynd, but once she removed the iron rod from her behind, the character was interesting enough. I would have liked to see more of Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre - best Bond villain in ages! There could have been more about his background though. All in all I liked it. I didn't love, didn't hate it, somewhere in the middle of the scale. I've felt that the whole Bond series of films have lost a lot of its appeal since the fall of the Iron Curtain and the end of the Cold War. I miss having the Soviet Union as an ominous force always lurking in the shadows, but there isn't much one can do about that now, is there? I think this is one of the things that has lead me to feel rather indifferent towards the whole Bond franchise. I think they did a decent job giving the movie a certain freshness. As a Soundgarden/Cornell fan I obviously liked the title song very much and I think the intro was nice looking. I liked the layout, or whatever the heck you call it (cursed language barrier). BTH
What I liked most about Casino Royale was how it was different from all the other James Bond movies. It didn't really feel like you were watching James Bond, but at the same time, you knew you were.
Doktor Kosmos
Yeah, I felt a bit like that too. That's what I liked about the book. When I read it, I couldn't understand how they could make such bad movies from the other books. Aside from some racism and sexism, the book is ten times better than all the old movies put together. Fanpuck33
He was in RoboCop? Wow. Why did I think he was in that? Probably because as a kid I didn't know the difference between the two movies. Still haven't seen any of them.
