22:26 for Mete, I think he even had a couple chances to score, 6 blocked shots also. Benn had least icetime of the 6, proper thing and again would prefer to see him sit and Davidson play with Schlemko (if one of the can play right d OK?) Great to see Galchenyuk with sweet shot and Drouin get 2pts. Only gave up 22shots... .save percentage of 818% and Priced earned that shitty stat.

Some fans seem to think the pay raise means he should somehow be BETTER than the guy he was at $6 mil. Nope, he's being paid to be Carey Price. Period. It's just that he hasn't been Carey Price over the last couple of games. A minor hiccup in an august career.

I noticed that too, and also found it strange. If the kid has an issue with confidence, that goal would have put the wind in his sails. Assuming that the objective is to get him on track offensively, surely that's the moment to empower him with big minutes and top linemates? What gives? On another note, it's amazing to me to read the amount of anti-Price sentiment all over the web from Habs 'fans.' The failure of fans to appreciate superstars when they have them never ceases to bemuse me. I saw it in Van for years with the Sedins, and I even saw it with Roy all those years ago. Dumb.

I can see the sharks circling already... On a serious note, again the kid played a very good game, set up one, scored a beauty, was buzzing all night. Good to see Galchneyuk look engaged and possibly snap out of his funk, this is the type of game that could see him move back up the line up and continue on the momentum he has built for himself this game. Our top 2 Pairings looked pretty damn solid tonight, the bottom pair had its cringe moments though. Hudon and Mete continue to impress, They seem ready to take on big roles and maintain that going forward, Really liked the Plekanec line tonight. Once again, we are the better team on the ice, dominate stretches, outplay the opponent overall, and can't get her done in the end. In a game that was very winnable, Price was very average, a situation this team just doesn't have the ability to overcome. I like what I am seeing on the ice, but I am hating the results, patiently waiting for the law of average to return to its rightful position.

The rational side to me is looking at this period and thinking, "Okay, they're outplaying, outhustling, and outchancing them. If they play like this more than not, they'll win more games than not." The irrational side to me is screaming into a void, "JUST SCORE A GOAL YOU ####ING ####S!!!!!!11111"

It's also a much heavier responsibility if the team in front of you is losing at both ends. One man teams are undermanned.

There is blame to go around but I believe most of this falls on the coach. He plays centre for most of a year and scores 30 goals. The next year they tell him he isn't a centre and use him up and down the lines looking for the right fit. In comes CJ and now he is on the 4th line in the playoffs and now here we are again in a new season and he is going to be on the fourth line again... Wouldn't you be thinking "but I scored 30 goals when playing centre, WTF is going on here"? Teams need offensively gifted players that are offensively minded. He is not an all around player like say Plex no matter what they want him to be. If the vision for this team is to be a grinding, wear you down, trapping, dumping team then he doesn't fit. Why not try him at centre with Drouin on the wing? What have we got to loose!

Right now, I see Galchenyuk as a more talented Kostitsyn. He has a lot of the tools you can't teach offensively, but just seems to make poor choices with the puck. That is coachable. He HAS improved year over year offensively up until last years injury. He DOES score most when he is playing centre. He does give the puck away and make bone head plays in the defensive zone. I would like to see a patient approach with him. I also believe that his point progression year over year and his pedigree warrant a promotion to a top line. It's not like some other player is burying goals and deserves to stay up there.

So it's ok for others to downvote me when they disagree with me but I can't do the same when I disagree with a post? Double standard? Actually I was downvoted first, not that I really give a shit but it must bother some of the homers here so payback is a bitch. Secondly, if you go back and read carefully you will see that El Commandante started the name calling not once but twice before I retorted. Just because someone doesn't see this situation the same way you do doesn't automatically make them unreasonable, nor does it require getting personal (or downvoting anyone who disagrees with you). This has actually been a very good thread so far with quite a few good points made, I'd hate to see it spiral in the wrong direction.

Well by my count I was downvoted 8 times, not once and in my world when someone attacks you it is fair game to retaliate but like I said I have a thick skin so if nobody else wants to insult me or attack my post there is no need for this to continue. But I will reply to anyone in kind who wishes to do so.

For the record.... I downvoted him ONCE for saying it was three years of regression out of Galchenyuk... which is not true and a made up fact. I don't like made up facts. So yeah, I downvoted that. I also called it out. I then noticed he was downvoting everyone. Not just me, repeatedly, but CC, Rev-G, Don, and others in this thread. It was at that point i made a number of downvotes cause I felt that was being unfair to do to others.

I know breaking your stick and trying to defend without one is pretty much a lost cause. But Galchenyuk just looked so clueless out there when broke his stick in own end, when he could of at least covered one player, blocked a shot, or gone to bench to get stick. I was just thinking at the time that he should try and just do something-anything instead of spinning in circles in open ice! Or am I being overly critical of him?

Just an opinion, but I 100% blame Chucky. Nothing is given in the NHL. You have a bad week you likely get less playing time. You gotta play out of it. He didn't like being on the fourth line? He should have performed to get off of it. His start to this season has been brutal. He seems uninterested, lazy. You don't get back to the top line playing like he is. Want to be a Center? Dominate on the wing. Win some face offs when your Center gets tossed. He doesn't do either. He's making it too easy on the coaches to play him where they are. He's one of the most talented players on the team. His play needs to reflect his talent.
