It's almost difficult to be excited by this news since it's something that should have been done quite some time ago. While it's certainly welcome news, the incompetence that allowed him to be part of the Canadiens development system well past his sell by date is quite depressing.

Long overdue....a crap player who was a crap coach. It's time to show the other crap player/also crap coach in our organization, JJ Daignault, the door as well. Then perhaps we turn our eye to the crap player/crap GM in our midst....

Yea, I like that 4th line combo Byron Danault A Shaw as the third line is good. Need to do something about the top 6, centers and some capable Dmen

Hopefully this is the start to fix the development issue here in Montreal.

If Shaw, Froese, McCarron never dressed again for Habs, would be fine by me. Got delaRose, Deslauriers, Carr, Rychel for 4th line.

That’s what happens, when you don’t have a GM hung up on red herrings like attitude, character and leadership. Next year the excuse will probably be the effect that the moons of Jupiter had on the team. not saying that Kane never had any issues, but you stick with a young player with skill. SJ b benefited by willing to take chance on a skilled player with size and speed, who was viewed as a dressing room cancer. They also got Thornton cheap, because he was as perceived to be fragile by the Bruins.
