  1. Yeah the refs gave us some penalties... they gave the flyers a lot of PPs too. Of the penalties on the flyers, how many were bad calls? That one handed slash in the third period? Thats probably about it. The rest were deserved. But what good is a PowerPlay if the ref is gonna disallow the PP goals? Then they allow two goals by the flyers that have the same in the crease goalie interference. Don't get me wrong... its not all on the refs, but its not like we can deny they were a factor; when they played a huge role in 3 of the goals. What was goalie interference seemed to change depending on what team was doing it.

  2. If the disallowed goal call was correct, how was the zoljsahhahrek goal allowed to count with ronaldo committing worse interference? If you want to play to the letter of the law, that's fine pleks goal shouldn't count. But if you want to call that, call it both ways.

  3. Ya, I listen, mostly in the car. When Mitch Melnyk interviews Stephen Brunt it's usually great radio. And although I find Pierre McGuire to be annoying, it's usually informative. Commandant, you're way off base about Melnyk and Martin. No surprise, because all you do is defend his every move. Try thinking outside the box, and sometimes, less is more...

  4. I hate when people blame the refs. The bottom line they habs didn't get 1 call. The had NUMEROUS PP's including 5-3's and couldn't produce anything. The powder puff defense simply can't out muscle anyone to clear the crease for Price. They were all tap in goals after the Flyers just knocked defenseman out of the way. Cammi and Pleks are just brutal out there, if you want to kill a players momentum, put him on a line with those 2. Put AK46 with Eller and Leblanc. Pur Darche with Pleks and Cammi as a checking line. I wonder what JM was thinking with Blundeen and Leblanc, "great job guys, you won a faceoff, drove the net, each scored a point, your night is through, hit the showers". That's pathetic. How about rewarding someone who produces? They played hard, PP was terrible, defense zone was really bad, they didn't give up alot of shots, great scoring chances though. If thye can beat the Devils it's still a decent week.

  5. That was great Colin. I really missed A Concerned Fan. I don't know how anyone can continue to defend Martin. He needs to be fired right now. -Benching LL for the third is asinine (he actually had one shift I believe). -Playing Darche (16:51 icetime) as much as Pacioretty (17:24) is %^$#ing stupid! Perhaps putting Leblanc with Eller instead might have turned out better? Or maybe Leblanc would have scored sooner resulting in a quicker benching. Martin needs to go

  7. I myself am confused about all penalties. Clutching & grabbing has increased & it's subtle but effective. Er...Um....what about it Gary, is that "New NHL" rules from the glorious 2005 season? I've also noticed holdups of forwards attacking down low when the puck is 4 meters away. FOUR METERS? The D's can get away with leaning defensively into the attacker. Interference is EVERYWHERE! The problem is the league hasn't figured out that on an ice surface 200 X 85 feet with 10 men on skates moving very quickly you're not going to end up with different results tweaking this rule & disregarding it the following season..Gary, hockey doesn't fit into the "Neat Box". Never has & it never will! Management at the NHL level needs to drink more booze! Drinking less would probably make these morons dumber & booze would do the opposite.

  9. This is what I've been waiting for...to see Emelin playing against a big, tough, physical attacking team. This should be fun to watch!

  10. Commandant, the hysterical reaction to the Kaberle deal basically convinced me that Habs fans have completely lost the plot. So it is hardly surprising that every single thing that has ever gone wrong in the history of humanity is being laid at Martin's feet. Every loss is HIS fault and OBVIOUS grounds for firing him. Some honourable exceptions aside, this sort of thing isn't about rational argument or analysis, it's about spasmodic scapegoating.
