kaos
Thank god for Philly...what a horrible shitty signing Could you imagine being stuck with Briere for 8 years. The guy will never score more than 65 poiints anyuwhere in the NHL other than Buffalo. Thats actually a worse signing than Dipeitro in NY
Psycing
TSN says 8 years... WHATTTT I really can't even comprehend these contract lengths.

Tony
Sources tell TSN Daniel Briere is in the process of finalizing an eight-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers between $6 million and $7 million per year. Briere, 29, came off a career season in which he led the Buffalo Sabres with 95 points. He added a team-leading 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in the playoffs. So potentially, the Habs offered him more money and 2 years less. I hope the same fans who criticized Bob for picking McDonagh instead of Esposito and Pacioretty instead of another Quebec-born player will sit down and realize this guy may have passed up more money by the Habs to play elsewhere. Sources say he'd like to play for the Habs, but he's concerned about the effect it might have on his family because of the intense pressure on a French Canadian player in Montreal. JMMR
Makes me cringe to think what Drury might make... Drury will get less! Also a shorter deal and there will not be a no movement clause.
Athlétique.Canadien
Link repaired. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL/FreeA...305175-sun.html I wonder where BOb will focus next.
Psycing
Anyone else get the feeling that 2, maybe 3 years from now we'll look back on this summer and laugh at the insane contracts teams handed out? If more players sign contracts like this one Briere just did, you can't expect them all to be producing the way they had further into the contract... hahaha it's a joke. Chuko
I would have liked Brière, but this is a ridiculously rich and long deal. No thanks. TRUST BOB !
Mr. Nasty
Drury will get less! Also a shorter deal and there will not be a no movement clause. Drury is better and more coveted than Briere. If it will take less, then the Habs should offer him what they offered Briere. I doubt he wants to play in Canada but I do believe he will cost less.
Pierre the Great
Blues are going to trade their faithful veterans every deadline and then sign them back every offseason. pretty much and usually they all come back to roost. Weird loyalty they've got.

Tony
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Calgary signs defenceman Cory Sarich to a five year, $18 million deal worth an average of $3.6 million per year. As per TSN

Fanpuck33
pretty much and usually they all come back to roost. Weird loyalty they've got. Not too hard to understand. They get to play 2/3 of a season with no pressure on a losing team, then get to go to a playoff team to try and win a Cup.
