The-Habby2919
4 year deal. I expect him to make about 4-5M, considering what the other guys are making. It's a good move though as he's just what we're looking for - a replacement for Souray who is more capable defensively and better allround. Lol.. thats everything I told you like 15 minutes ago. :hlogo:
JMMR
''Roman Hamrlik established himself as a solid NHL veteran,'' Habs GM Bob Gainey said in a statement. ''The acquisition of Roman fills a very important need in our organization. He is a strong defenceman with a powerful shot and excellent hockey skills. He brings to our club a solid experience and an excellent reputation.''

JoeLassister
If Souray sign with the Canadien, it won't be as desastrous as we tought it would be...
Dalhabs
one little sign and suddenly we all feel alot better
Captain_Stealth
Hamrlik is basically what Gainey said in his statement. He's a solid dman with a great shot from the point. Seeing how the Flames are in the same divison as the Nucks, I've seen quite a bit of him. I think you guys got a pretty good dman here. Quebecois
If Souray sign with the Canadien, it won't be as desastrous as we tought it would be... Yeah, imagine our two PP duos of Souray-Markov and Hammer-Streit. Markov-Komi Souray-Streit Cube-Hammer Dandenault (still not sure which side Roman plays)
mineral
Looks like he's a lefty. On another note -- wasn't the word out that Nylander signed with the Oil? Now it's Washington apparently.
Dalhabs
pls pls pls resign Souray... that would make me very happy.
Habitforming
Hamrlik's first game in Montreal will be his 1000th game. Kinda nice to get signed and have a ceremony for him in the first game huh?
BTH
I'd love to have Souray back now because Hamrlik could cover for him if they played on the same pairing. Markov-Komisarek Hamrlik-Souray Streit-Bouillon What's not to like?

huzer
Cool...realistically for the Habs, I was hoping for one of Hamrlik, Preissing, or Stuart. (I wouldn't mind Stuart as well, but I'm happy with just nabbing Hamrlik).
Athlétique.Canadien
Whichever mod is updating the thread: Thanks. That's what I get for eating supper. I knew it would happen when I wasn't available. This signing helps and makes me feel a little better. Doesn't bode well for Souray sweepstakes
Dalhabs
How the hell did Bob manage to sign hamrlik that cheap? Is something more going to happen very soon because why would he sign with us when many cup contenders wouldve paid more for him?
JMMR
Hahahah all those centres are going to regret not signing with the Habs when Souray comes next (JMMR is praying)
Habitforming
How the hell did Bob manage to sign hamrlik that cheap? Is something more going to happen very soon because why would he sign with us when many cup contenders wouldve paid more for him? When I heard the signing I figured it was for $18-20M I am shocked and lovin it! Rivet makes way more then he does now and I'd take Hammer over Rivet. Why would Calgary take Aucoins $4M if they could have had Hamrlik so cheap? Edited July 2, 2007 by Habitforming
MAK
I am hearing 3 millon if it is I wil love this signing. if he gets the same kind of money that souray recieved last year, it's all good.
Quebecois
Any links on the 3 million thing? Robert Lang is a Blackhawk so that ship has sailed as far as Centre's go.
