Looks like an awful start for Guelph in the OHL finals. The game was still 3-2 late in the second; the blow-out was the result of three PP goals by Ottawa in the third. Guelph actually outshot Ottawa in the game. I think this will be a longer series than the first-game score might indicate.

Ottawa is now 13-0 in the playoffs, they have been dominant, not just against Guelph, but against all comers so far. 

 

After two big series wins, this might be the bridge too far for this Guelph team.

A big part of Ottawa's dominance has been the power play -- 40.3% and 25 goals in the playoffs so far! Guelph will need to stay out of the penalty box if they want to have a chance.

It's not too often when a team has the top playoff scorer in two separate junior leagues but that's where the Habs are with Suzuki and Teasdale.  If only Fonstad was producing as well...

He looks like he's playing hurt.  He did miss some games in the playoffs too.

Do you think Teasdale has higher ceiling than a Gabriel Dumont did, who had a nice 51g season in his last junior year. Or is he simply dominating due to experience/age and still unlikely to make any impact in NHL?

Teasdale does seem better than Dumont, He nearly made team canada for the WJCs showing that he is recognized more than Dumont was. That said, he's still an undrafted free agent signing which means its a long shot. For every one of those guys who makes it, 20-30 don't

Suzuki 7 shots +1 but nothing and lose again 4-3, down 2-0 in finals, but i guess Guelph will be at home next game...if that helps?

That was after game 1. Game 2 was closer, but Guelph got hurt by penalties again.

Dipietro was injured for Ottawa in the game. His backup came in and played well... but DiPietro is probably the best goalie in the CHL.  If he's out for any length of time, it opens up a sliver of hope for Guelph.

Wow. Ottawa had 14 straight playoff wins, including two over Guelph. A 7-2 beating certainly does tend to shift the momentum, though. Clearly Ottawa is beatable after all.

the DiPietro injury is huge. Andree is just not near as good. 

 

That said, Guelph was the better team and deserved the win, just not sure its 7-2 with DiPietro in net... never know what it is but 3-2 or 4-2 seems more likely.

Agreed. DiPietro would have most likely made it a much closer game. But the 7-2 is a momentum-changer none the less: the 67s just found out that they cannot just rely on goaltending.
