Lovett's Magnatones Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 The Bullets shot by Hamilton Gangsters are faster. Is there even any crime in Hamilton? I imagine that on an AHL salary, they would be able to afford apartments in a decent area. Quote
Neech Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Nygren seems like a very good prospect. I hope we can handle him better next year. Quote
dlbalr Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Nygren did quite well yesterday beyond the hardest shot. He was 4/6 in accuracy (tied for 1st) and 2/5 in rapid fire (vs Tokarski no less). Tokarski made 6/10 saves in rapid fire and 9/11 saves in the breakaway relay which is pretty good as well. Commandant Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Is there even any crime in Hamilton? I imagine that on an AHL salary, they would be able to afford apartments in a decent area. There is some crime in every city... but nowhere near what Nygren said it to be in his two interviews. In a city with almost 800,000 in poulation we had 11 homicides for the entire calendar year 2013.... Nygren must be either a liar or the unluckiest man alive.... he was here for less than 2 months and was witness to two separate murders.... what are the chances? Quote
DON Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Nygren seems like a very good prospect. I hope we can handle him better next year. Super with puck, not so super without it, which may be fine if you are a young forward. Through 2 periods Farjestad vs AHL he is a team worst -3. Quote
dlbalr Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Through 2 periods Farjestad vs AHL he is a team worst -3. He scored in the 3rd (on Tokarski), still finished a -3. Tokarski made 20 saves on 22 shots in 31:32 of action. Quote

That's not bad at all, I live in South Florida, but grew up in New Hampshire, so I know the two extremes. Violent crime rarely affects law abiding citizens, I'm not sure what he was so worried about, sounds like he thought he would make the NHL and wanted an excuse to leave. Quote
dlbalr Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 With the trade deadline approaching, here are my annual trade odds for the Bulldogs: http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3325 Quote
miklin Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Bulldogs have signed 23 year old Jordon Southorn from Fort Wayne of the ECHL to a PTO. 6'3" 205 D man-native of Mtl-interesting spelling of Jordon. Also played in Elmira this season Quote
Machine of Loving Grace Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Southorn was a guy people were pegging as a career ECHLer, though a top ECHL defenceman. He's a strong guy. Not afraid to fight. Could work well on the third pairing with Tinordi up. Quote
dlbalr Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 This is where not having any depth starts to sting. I know Grassi isn't healthy but there really should be another competent call-up option in Wheeling instead of looking to other ECHL teams to bring in PTO guys. Quote
DON Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I assume Dewiski cleared waivers and will play in Dogs weekend games? Quote
BlueKross Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 If I remember correctly, Dlbair said it was a 48 hr wait if posted waivers on weekend;; He should clear Tues at noon? Quote

It used to be a 48 hour wait on the weekend, now it's just 24 (it was in the new CBA). He cleared at noon today and was assigned. Quote

dlbalr Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Since Justin Courtnall isn't a Montreal prospect, I won't link this on the main page but here's a good read about him and his families' influence: http://theahl.com/dad-s-influence-helping-courtnall-s-career-p191183 Quote
BlueKross Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Interesting piece on the owner on main site, apparently a Spec article. that the owner has no control over the roster. He recognizes the lack of veteran scoring acumen, which we have alluded to for the past few years. Maybe he should sign on to Habsworld. With any luck, maybe things will change and we get a roster that at least has a chance to succeed. Quote
Machine of Loving Grace Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hamilton was a very successful team for years. It has hit a rough patch recently. As far as I can recall Montreal always would pick up a vet for Hamilton. Quote
dlbalr Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 So Hamilton played tonight (I thought it was tomorrow, hence there not being a GDT). They lost 4-0 to Texas and Tokarski was a healthy scratch. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1012077 Quote
