Drouin has admitted his future is on his mind, has played fine in last month; but still goalless and low value i assume (late pick flyer for a contender maybe?)

Assists do have value, too, and he's at just about 0.5 assists/game, nothing to sneeze at.

If we could trade Drouin for a 5th or another potentially high reward/low risk deal a la Gurianov, I would be ecstatic. Similarly, trading Hoffman and not having to give up assets or retain much salary for someone to take him would be a major win, bordering on a minor miracle.  I’m now hoping that we sign Monaghan to a one year “show me” deal because I don’t think even this brain trust can get a good additional return on him this deadline.
In HuGort we trust.

MSL said yesterday that Drouin has "elite vision" and I think the reporter paraphrased his understanding that he has elite hockey IQ. That, his passing nad his recent play now that he is healthy may yield a later draft pick return.

the fact that he can't shoot anymore and that he i such a niche/specialist complementing others makes it difficult. I still seem MIN as a good fit for their playoff run. They have shooters in their lineup and may benefit from Drouin on their 2rd line and on the 2nd PP

Any GM trading significant assets for a player as soft, erratic, unreliable, and often-injured as Drouin should be fired immediately.

At one end of the rink he is pretty slick playmaker at least. So maybe a 5th, 6th or 7th rd pick worth, not significant; but stuff him in pressbox in case playoff injuries crop up might be worth it to some contender?

Right, I can see a 5th rounder coming back, maybe, for a depth FW on a contending team. Hell, we should ask BriseBois...maybe he'll give us all of TB's remaining picks for Drouin.

Yep.  Plus, I'm not sure if anyone else is aware that Drouin might have a record setting year.  i.e. he's only 3 or 4 assists away from breaking the all time record for most assists without a goal.  (I believe the record is 21)

I could see the Avs possibly having interest in him.  He did play Jr with McKinnon so they might think to reunite them.  The potential gain could be high and the price would be very low.  With the cap crunch Drouin wont get a big contract anywhere next year if any at all.  The Avs could likely use a cheap contract player to fill out their roster.  Drouin could be their best choice.
