Commandant
Boone Jenner made the team in this third period. Two beauty assists added to a goal earlier. Bournival fighting with Danault for the other bottom 6 center spot. Promising. Besides Subban and Price, when was the last time we had Habs prospect playing for Team Canada in the WJC? Looks like we may have more than 1 this year. Exciting! Chipchura, Latendresse and Leblanc all have made it in recent years. (06, 07, and 11)... to go along with Price (07) and Subban (08, 09). Only missed one tourney since 2006.

illWill
This is excellent news for Habs fans. Not only do we have 3 quality prospects in the system but we also get to watch them on the big stage with the rest of the country. I don't remember having 2 Habs on the roster, let alone 3. And since the tournament is being played on home soil, it is going to be even more amazing to watch. I can't wait! Tinordi makes the US team. http://www.usahockey.com/world_junior_championship_2012/default.aspx?NAV=AF_02&ID=309480

Yes very nice surprise that both Bournival and Beaulieu made the cut, i have hardly even seen Bournival play and am very curious. Pribyl and Tinordi may also both play in tourny and i wouldnt be a surprised to see Tinordi be captain of USA team, as he was with U-18 team. Gauthier and Timmons can pat themselves on the back for having an encouraging crop of prospects for near future. Leblanc is showing signs that he is not far off being full time NHL, but should likely finish this year in AHL and get tons of icetime. Colin
I've heard a lot of negative commentary regarding our recent drafting (last 3 years) but the fact is they're a) too young to really know, but more importantly b) apparently much better than anyone thought. Pribyl, for instance, is a name I've heard very often, and always positively.
Chris
I think the drafting has picked up in recent years. . Bournival was an Avs pick. Can some one tell me about Bounival, i read somewhere he is alot like Marchand in Boston. I was wondering if that's true?

Can some one tell me about Bounival, i read somewhere he is alot like Marchand in Boston. I was wondering if that's true? I've seen limited games but like Marchand, I don;t think so. He is gritty like Marchand sure, has offensive upside to his game as well. Takes the body like marchand but the major difference is the yapping. Bournival again from limited games is not a big yapper,.

dlbalr
It's interesting to see those two paired together. That suggests Gallagher will be used in more of an energy role than a scoring one. Also, for US readers on here, good news as the NHL Network has picked up some extra games for the tournament. http://www.usahockey.com/world_junior_championship_2012/default.aspx?NAV=AF_03&id=310096&DetailedNews=yes
dlbalr
Tinordi was a healthy scratch for the US' first exhibition game. Hopefully that's a sign that they don't need to evaluate him and that he has a spot on the team (most feel he should be penciled in). Commandant
He's gonna play tonight. Everything I'm hearing is that he's been one of the best D in their practices... is playing "lights out" and is a surefire bet to make the team. He's a legit contender for Captain. Everything I've read has him pegged as a lock too but I hate jumping to conclusions when it comes to prospects. Some encouraging numbers for Pribyl in the Czechs' exhibition game against Latvia. A goal and two helpers, that should help his cause. http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.php/ci_id/75138/la_id/1/game_id/181265/season_id/181242/ss_id/56000/

DON
Yeah i was just coming here to post the Pribyl numbers. 1g 2a is impressive, even if its against a minnow like Latvia. yes , encouraging for sure, i thought he just had the 1 goal and with an american d-man going down to injury and Faulk playing NHL, Tinordi is a lock i would guess and possibly captain. Love to see Gallagher get his typical garbage goal in 1st game, every game i see him play for Vancouver he is non-stop every shift and is not afraid to take a hit to make a play. Commandant
Tinordi or Zucker will be the captain. As a 3rd time WJC member I think Zucker has the edge, but I'm pulling for former U18 Captain Tinordi.
HabsTrick450
Team Canada Goal Brendan Gallagher assisted by Michael Bournival Future habs line? Both will surely make the NHL
DON
Future habs line? Both will surely make the NHL Gallagher will likely fit in better as scorer on top 2 lines whereas Bournival will for sure be 3rd/4th liner early in career, but with very hard working guys like Leblanc, Bournival, White and Gallagher we will hopefully see more inspired play than that shown at present. Bournival seems to be playing the role Leblanc had last year and would fit on 2nd, 3rd or 4th line nicely. That friggin Dougie Hamilton looks too damn good and will haunt the Leafs starting next year in Boston for sure. Hamilton and Segain for Kessel is a bit lopsided. Should be a even match tonight and will get to see a future Hab pick in June with Filip Forsberg, unless Habs really do well and overtake Ducks and Islanders for Grigorenko, haha. Beaulieu looks super with puck and offensively, but defensively seems simllar to several current Hab d-men who couldnt knock my grandmother off her skates, but at least we have Tinordi, Ellis, Pateryn and a couple other strictly defensive d-men turning pro in fall of 2012. should be another tight tournament and great time of year cheers
