  1. Cammy is a Habby! I like this.. does anyone have the terms? its 5 years I think...
  2. Koivu isn't gone yet. but if he does, Gomez can have an A after he earns it! and Laps gets an A and Kovy can have the C for as long as he remains with the habs! But I say again Koivu is still our Captain! GO Habs GO! :ghg:
  3. I took Gabs! but would prefer to keep Tangs! (cheaper option maybe) and with some luck would like to have both. But thats a big time pipe dream. :ghg: GO hAbS GO!
  4. wow! if defense wins games, then look out for the flames next season. I'm happy the habs don't play the flames too many times. Our boys would be on their asses before we hit the blue line. And good luck trying to stop the point shot with this team, we are going to need bullet proof body armor when we play these Defense-men!
  5. I must admit; I thought this was a bad April fools joke at first! Almost choked on my dinner :puke: ( as I read that Mc D was included in the trade) and thank God I have a 2-4 of corona handy or else I would have been into the scotch to get over this trade. That would have been another loss if I finished my expensive scotch trying to forget this trade. But thanks to all of you and the 11 pages of discussion, that I have read with much patient and a few bottles of icey cold corona on this extremely muggy day, I feel better... :king: Maybe its the corona talking now but I finally am happy with this trade and feel really good about it! I have been waiting a long time for a #1 centre who can win a game for us with an end to end rush, put up points like a mad man and be the dependable star we so desperately needed. Gomez has proven that he can do this, albeit last season he choked, much like I did earlier this evening. So Gomez better put his game face on and bring his A game, every time he hits the ICE as a HABS player, he better deliver. or else! Yes, it cost us BIG TIME! in cash and a solid prospects, but we needed to spend cash for a centre and Mc D, has not proven anything yet. And will not for another 4 years minimum, if at all. We needed a #1 centre today and we have one. Bob has a lot of business still unattended; I just hope I don't need another 2-4 of corona or a bottle of scotch to make the next trade or signing go down easy. and yes he sure as heck surprised me! :ghg: :ghg: :ghg: Go HABS Go!
  6. Looks like Chris Chelios will not sign with the wings. Anyone here feel he may return to the Habs to complete his career? Bob has a history of bringing back x-habs. He could be a good cheap filler, with tons of experience and massive upside to help teach the kids. Chelios indicated his preference is to stay in the Eastern Conference. I would not be disappointed with this move. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=282740 If we don't sign Saku (looks like we won't); we lose a major faceoff specialist, so we need to balance that loss if we don't sign him and at the same time bring in a #1 centre. So I'm hoping that Bob pulls the trigger and deals away some of our talented second and third line players (which we are blessed with) for that proven #1. :ghg: Go Habs Go!
  7. 550 Mil? would love to find out the true sale amount. Either way I hope this also means we will spend to the cap and be open to make a big move for that missing #1 centre, time to pull the trigger on that big trade Bob!
  8. Crawford hired! :contract: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=281531 I guess Carbo will not be coaching in Dallas...
  9. I don't hate it! yet... :glare: but I'm willing to give this a good try! Looking at the league today, considering the turmoil in the coaching ranks, the turn over in the GM ranks. There is a lot of young blood jumping in at all levels to coach an equally youthful league. We've had our turn with rookie'ish coaches, I'm ready for a veteran with a system and one who understands the high expectations of coaching in Montreal! Delivering every night is an expectation and the honeymoon period for the head coach of the Habs will be done as soon as Bob introduces Jacques Martin. So considering our options and our expectations. I'm ready to give this a try! GO HABS GO! :ghg:
  10. 6Mil Peso's maybe... after that last horrible season; he'll be lucky to get a taco salad; Kovy needs to prove he truly wants to stay in Montreal and offer a home town discount! a DEEP discount. :contract:
  11. Has anyone heard where this is at? are we sold yet? will we be moving to Mexico? I could really use a vacation...
  12. I've had enough of the non-experienced coaching that we have experimented with in Montreal; its time to bring in a proven coach with a system, communication and leadership!
  13. I would prefer to keep Kovy! However, would prefer these terms, for both players: Take a massive paycut! 2Mil for Saku and 2.5 Mil for Kovy and work for performance bonuses. PP points, Goals., Assists., Making the playoffs round 1/2, staying healthy for the season; in other words, you get paid if you perform! Too bad no one will go for this option...
  14. DIVISION CHAMPS! I'm so giddy.. this is brilliant! 6 mins to RDS Canadiens EXPRESS! Gotta watch this jem of a game again. CAN u believe the character our habs showed tonight. winning it in impressive style. FROM PK TO PP to 4 on 4 to Even strength. This game was played like they were on a mission. I LOVE IT! GO HABS GO!
  15. My vote is for MAC's and JLP to do it again! GO HABS GO! So Proud of my beloved Canadiens! Lets keep this pace boys right into and through the playoffs!
  16. On TSN ice chips... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname= Saku Koivu and Mark Streit won't play Saturday against the Maple Leafs. Koivu blocked a shot on his first shift but finished the game against the Sabres on Friday. Streit suffered what appreared to be an ankle injury on the same shift. Head coach Guy Carbonneau says both will have x-rays this weekend. Mathieu Dandenault and Patrice Brisebois will suit up in place for Montreal. The Canadiens did not skate on Saturday morning. - TSN Jaroslav Halak will get the start against the Maple Leafs on Saturday. - RDS Defenceman Mike Komisarek is suffering from a hip injury. - Journal de Montreal
  17. First of all, this is terrible. Going all season without anything serious and now.. we have Komi, Cap. K and Streets! out of the battle in sick bay. A good test for this team, tonight and in the last part of this season. Lets see who takes advantage of this and steps it up. Lastly, when I heard of this on an update on TSN. The first place I choose to check was Habsworld. which goes to show, when you want the facts and updates as it happens... there is only one place to be... HW! GO HABS GO! Keep the updates rolling in.. and thanks.
  18. What? Roy is retiring? But what will he do now. He's still so young and full of passion for the game. This is a sad day for hockey. hrm.. I wonder if he would ever consider coaching as a new career move? Fair well st. patrick. thanks for the memories.
  19. I'm with Wamsley01 on this... I have loads of faith in Price. When the playoffs start we will be a force to deal with and if Price continues to perform when it matters most. We should see another world junior/calder cup performance from this kid. Goalies are a big part of winning in the playoffs and I'll put my cash on PRICE. GO HABS GO!
  20. Well, I hope grabs is here to stay. he played another good game tonight in place of plex. and has loads of potential. GO HABS GO!
  21. ST. PATRICK takes this one for me. Not sure if we will see another goalie dominate with such passion and command such respect both on and off the ice. He has inspired many and many still model after him. His number should be retired next, he deserves that at the least. GO HABS GO!
  22. OV. there is no contest here.. he wins hands down.
  23. Yeah! I like his mask. As long as he continues to play like he is, giving us a chance to win, he can wear what ever he wishes... GO HABS GO!
