Quebecois
My dream job would be to do PTI with my good friend. Wow, i cant tell you how many times me and my buddy have talked about our dream of doing a Canadian version on TSN... We even recorded a video of one a few years ago. Quebecois
Argh Pena did not catch that ball... Edit: Glad to see the Jays finally get a win. Hopefully the bats are back for good now.
Quebecois
Series mini-sweep, could really salvage the road trip with a couple of wins against the Yanks.
Pierre the Great
I love it how bad the Yankees are. Makes me smile. They won't finish above .500 this year. Why? Pitching. None of there starters make it through the 6th inning. Bullpen will be shot by June. Plus you can't win on offense only. Bats will go cold for a month. Loving how bad the Cardinals are stinking it up. Hate the owner. LOL the Cubs. So much for winning it this year.

Yanks will be there in September in what i say is a 3 team race. I tip my hat to you sir. Sox got beat down, nothing else to say. Your D looked really weak, might be an achilles heal since i like your rotation and lineup. Is Coco Crisp struggling enough to put Pena in CF? IMO that gives you one of the weaker defensive outfields out there, although Drew is solid in RF... I can't see Theo not making some sort of move to improve that outfield (obviously gotta be CF where the changes are made)
Fanpuck33
Wily Mo Pena is the worst defensive outfielder in baseball.
simonus
crisp actually has been playing better of late, but he has a leg pull or something that kept him out of the last 3 games. He should be back tonight or tomorrow I think. Between Crisp and Drew, I think the outfield D is pretty good. Manny isn't quite as bad as billed (or on that horrid throw last night). but yeah, with Pena next to Manny... the D ain't that great. Pierre the Great
So much for Yankee fans and thinking that this Hughes kid is any good. Couldn't even get through 5. lol Way to go Jays on the win.

Come on, one start against one of the better lineups in the league doesn't mean the kid won't be a good one. Great game for the Jays, AJ with 7 strong innings and the bats continue to do well. Glaus back on Saturday.

I listen to this national call in radio show in the middle of the night while working and all the yankee fans were saying the kid would pitch strong 8 innings and have stunning stuff etc. Been hearing it for weeks. Can't wait for them to start crying tonight.

Can't wait for them to start crying tonight. It's one game. I like to make fun of yankee fans as much as anybody, but only the silliest of the silly (read: sports radio addicts) would base their entire opinion of an up and coming rookie on 1 ML appearance. Now from what I have heard, his ML starts this year have been less than awe inspiring. I don't think pre-game fanboy bluster accurately represents Yankee short term expectations. Yankee fans definitely expect this kid to emerge as a top 3 starter, but not necessarily in his first start.
Pierre the Great
Really? Didn't Steinbrenner pay 50 million for that Japanese pitcher this year? Then low and behold there was a report that George would send him down to the minors after 3 starts because he wasn't very good. lol

Couldn't even get through 5. lol I guess that Johan Santana guy must not be very good since he had an ERA over 6 in his first MLB season. I guess Chris Carpenter must suck after having an ERA over 5 in 3 of his first 6 MLB seasons. Heck, Curt Schilling must be the worst of the bunch since his ERA was over 9 in his first 4 MLB starts. Fanpuck33
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Arc7...t&type=lgns Boy, Hughes must really suck... yeah. I have, don't know why I have but that's true. Wish it wasn't. Ha, I've lost most of my faith in society also, but for most likely the exact opposite reasons as you.

simonus
I know that this is early and the season and it won't keep up, but: Boston is the only above .500 team in the AL East? What the hell? I guess when the Yankees have a decimated rotation and B.J. Ryan is on the DL something like this is bound to happen, but ????

Quebecois
Our rotation is really letting us down right now. Its at the point where the only person i feel comfortable with is Halladay. The pen is so hit or miss as well. Accardo, Downs and Janssen have been lights out, but Frasor and Marcum especially have been awful. I'm hoping that once we get League and Ryan back we will be okay but im not so sure anymore.
Pierre the Great
Clemens signs with the Yankees. Funny thing though he can't go past 6 innings so that's a worthless hire for a team that just had its FIRST pitcher go 8 innings yesterday. LOL
Quebecois
So how is 6 innings at a 2.3 ERA a worthless hire? Especially for a team that has used 10 starting pitchers in their first 30 games...
Pierre the Great
Because he still can only go 6 innings. He won't save the bullpen. When the media is going to act like he can, he can't. He doesn't fix the Yankees problems because he doesn't go deep into games.
simonus
the yankees were also missing quality starts, not just IP from their starters. Additionally, Clemens' IP might have been limited last season because of the whole pulling the starting pitcher for the pinch hitter strategy in the NL. Even if Clemens is only good for 6 innings, it is still more than many yankee starters have been able to produce. It'll be interesting to see what clemens can do another year older and in a much more offensively oriented league. I don't remember the NL to AL coversion, but I wouldnt be shocked to see him well above 3 ERA with the yankees. Of course a 3.5 ERA in the AL East is pretty nice.
