jcc
From what I heard from BG yesterday, here is my scenario. Only one rookie makes the team: grabovski. Price, O'Byrne, and Chipchura will be sent down, but recalled at some point over the year for prolongued stays, perhaphs even permanent ones, depending on injuries and/or trades. That will leave the starting team pretty much unchanged from the end of last year, save of course for the 3 free agent signings. SO... Huet- Halak Komisarek-Markov Brisebois-Hamrlik Dandenault-Bouillon Gorges-Streit Higgins-Koivu-Ryder Kostitsyn-Grabovski-Kovalev Latendresse-Plekanec-Smolinski Begin-Lapierre-Kostopolous Murray Hopefully, before Xmas, Murray will be gone as will Dandenault or Bouillon, and one of the golies to make room for Price, O'Byrne, and Chipchura. Otherwise, the propect depth thesis is all hype.

JoeLassister
Ok I'm a little late on the prediction who makes the team: This guy This guy And this guy For our first line... Ya I'm still living in the past nop you're all wrong. BG told Brière's agent that our first line can't be nothing else than Higgins, Koivu and Ryder From what I heard from BG yesterday, here is my scenario. Only one rookie makes the team: grabovski. Jean
Who I WOULD send down if the decision was mine alone : Murray, Dandenault and Price. I would send Price down because right now he's roughly equal to Halak but he cost way more cap space due to his bonuses. Dandenault is our worse defenseman IMHO and Murray is just useless. Who I think WILL be sent down : Grabovski , O'Byrne and Halak. Gainey will have the last word concerning the goaler situation. O'Byrne and Grabo can be sent down w/o clearing waivers. No matter who gets sent down tough they will be back with the Habs this season as soon as an injury or a slump happens. Everyone excepted Murray on our current roster deserve an NHL job IMO. You STILL Think that's gonna happen??? Marleau's not coming here, and (knock on wood) Koivu's not getting traded. Ryder, okay, but not Koivu. Umm, I think that was a joke. Anyways, I know Marleau won't be coming here. Why would San Jose want to trade Marleau, think about it

MAK
This was Saturday on CJAD & CKAC between periods. BG was inteviewed on both stations (at different times, of course). gainey also said that he won't lose a player on waivers. this could mean two things: 1-players that can be sent down without going throuhg the waivers could/will be sent down. o'byrne, halak, price, grabovski, chipchura, lapierre 2- bob will send down players that he doesnt really fear/care to lose on waivers.( garth murray anyone??or even maybe steve bégin while highly unlikely) a goalie, a Dman and a foward will be sent down O'Byrne will likely get the boot. I'll bet a toonie that garth murray goes down. unless theres a trade for halak today, price will be sent down. BTH
Now that we know the team: Higgins-Koivu-Ryder Kostitsyn-Grabovski-Kovalev Latendresse-Plekanec-Smolinski Begin-Chipchura-Kostopoulos Murray, (Lapierre) Markov-Komisarek Hamrlik-Brisebois Gorges-Streit Bouillon, Dandenault, (O'Byrne) Huet Price (Halak) This seems to be the opening day lineup, though Gorges and Bouillon may be interchangeable. I really can't see anything other than this.

I have a bad feeling that Gorges will be scratched and cube will be in. Also expecting Dandy to be in the lineup but not sure where, except maybe in Chips spot. BTH
WTF IS BRISEBOIS ACTUALLY OUR #4 DEFENSEMAN? Hamrlik is good defensively, I think they may want him with Brisebois so he can cover for his mistakes, yet have the offensive ability to play with him on offence. I'd much rather Brisebois with Hamrlik than Brisebois on a third pairing with Bouillon, Dandenault or Gorges - they'd get killed. PS - if the second line is Kostitsyn-Grabovski-Kovalev, then Brisebois may be more at home on that pairing as he's an offensive player and that's an offensive line. I'm not sure Hamrlik will be able to play defence for 5 players on that shift but we'll see - they may need to sub Latendresse or Plekanec onto that line to change things up and add another dimension or two that those guys lack. Peter Puck
We have a winner: Macaskill Macaskill predicted 21 of the 23 players on the starting line up on Sep 23. His only mistakes were chosing Halak over Price and Lapierre over Grabovski. Higgins - Koivu - Ryder Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev Latendresse - Smolinski - Kostopoulos Begin - Chipchura - Lapierre Ex: Murray Markov - Komisarek Hamrlik - Streit Bouillon - Dandenault Ex: Gorges - Brisebois Huet Halak
