HABBER-oooooKNOWS
Someone should also lobby for Andrei Kostitsyn to take propecia like Theo. Hey no bald jokes. You might get yourself suspended.
brobin
The problem I have with Lats in front of the net is that he doesn't know how to do it. Being big is not sufficient. Several times I have seen him in front of the net, but he doesn't know how to face the shot and tip it, nor when to spin and bash in the rebound. That is a bit of an art all to itself. Koivu is more effective in front of the net when he parks himself their then Guy has ever been. Perhaps Begin would be useful, or AK even. As for Breezer, I don't think he has been that bad overall. He is never going to be a Norris winner, but he moves the puck well and can hit the net. He was also pretty good taking guys into the boards and freeing up the puck last night (he needs to be consistent here). I don't mind him being the 6th guy plus a PP specialist. He can switch off games with Dandy too, which would help them both. Pleks definitely needs to man up, but I was afraid of this. It is just possible that last year was his career anomaly. He was definitely in a groove with Kovy last year and things went well for him, but too many people seemed to think he would do it again or even get better. I am not so sure. Even Kovalev had an outstanding year last year, but so far he has looked more like the 2006 Kovalev. On a positive note, Koivu is having a much better year, probably because he is enjoying chemistry he has with Tanguay. Let's hope that continues. I am still waiting for our grunts (other then Lang) to pot some and give us those other scoring lines we keep dreaming about....
PMAC
unless I'm mistaking they are in New Jerzey now ! Golden seals folded. Coloroda Rockies (coached by Don Cherry in their last years of existence) became the Devils.
saskhab
Golden seals folded. Coloroda Rockies (coached by Don Cherry in their last years of existence) became the Devils. Actually, the Golden Seals moved to Cleveland for two years, before merging with the Minnesota North Stars. When San Jose came into the league, the old Golden Seals/Barons owners, who had a share in the North Stars, became the founding owners of the Sharks. As a result, the Sharks recieved some players from the North Stars (including goalies Bryan Hayward and Arturs Irbe, a Minny draft pick) and the North Stars participated in the 1991 expansion draft with the Sharks. Here's the 1991 dispersal/expansion draft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_NHL_Disp...xpansion_Drafts Notice that Minnesota picked Guy Lafleur with the last pick. Guy retired before the season started, never suiting up for Minnesota.
BTH
In other news, has this site been officially surpassed by Habs Inside-Out as the main online venue for discussion relating to specific games? These game threads don't seem as long as they used to be. Just asking. I used to post in-game back when there were 20 page game threads but now the computer's too far out of the way, I would have to miss half the game to post. Shortcat leaving was also a big factor, I think I've seen him go 80 posts in a game.

JMMR
Why did shortcat leave? He was an older guy. A teacher I believe I am not sure why but he could be bored of the inter web.
Fanpuck33
He's always kind of gone through spurts where he doesn't post and then starts up again. He's not gone, he's just not saying anything. He signed in as recently as last week.
dark_faerie87
Someone should also lobby for Andrei Kostitsyn to take propecia like Theo. He should just bite the bullet and shave it all off. Just please, get rid of that hideous skullet! I used to post in-game back when there were 20 page game threads but now the computer's too far out of the way, I would have to miss half the game to post. Shortcat leaving was also a big factor, I think I've seen him go 80 posts in a game. I think that's the big there right there. Back when we had really huge/long gamethreads, there were a lot of people who were relying solely on radio (or worse, the thread itself) in order to follow the game. Pretty much everyone has RDS now or CentreIce and it's harder to post during a game when you're actually watching it. I've also noticed this season so far that there hasn't been as much back and forth commentary between posters. Unless someone scores or there's a horrible play, no one says anything. simonus
I know I used to be good for at least a page a game back in the old days. 1) I have fewer posts to respond to now 2) School and relationship limit my ability to post in-game Nowadays, I probably watch half my games on my laptop with the sound off because my gf is around or I am studying. Neither situation is really conducive to posting. I think having the game video streaming online also hurts the game threads. People who used to maybe listen to the game on internet radio now have the game running on their computers at fullscreen. Tough to post when your entire screen is filled with hockey. Yeah, I would post during game threads, but I have it full screen on my TV and any time I click, it goes out of full mode. I wish GameCenter would use WMP instead of Flash player. BTH
I've always had RDS but I think I used to have a room that had both a computer and a TV in it so I could post while I watch. Now, I'd have to run back and forth. Why did shortcat leave? He thought there were too many offensive, immature or just stupid post(er)s on here so now he just checks in occasionally, usually to post some article he read recently. Back then, the Habs weren't the reigning champs of the East, most of the posts were negative and tons of people were whining just to vent their frustrations (you can still see that today, just look at the Laraque thread) and he was one of the few optimistic guys around. I guess he got tired of telling people to cheer up.
