I mean hey why not?

Watching Hawks/Wild and Kings/Blues. The Blues are absolutely all over the Kings right now but Quick is proving himself to being quite possibly the Kings best player. Bouwmeester has looked really good for the Blues. He makes it hard to even play the St. Louis zone. Hawks/Wild is a bit less interesting but Crawford has looked great.

The big story line has come from Chicago where Josh Harding was forced to start Game 1 for Minnesota after Niklas Backstrom went down early. Harding played just 5 games this year as he battled MS symptoms and didn't play particularly well. So far so good for him though.

He's going to win the Masterton. Only guy I think deserves it over Markov.

Time to change cable providers. They aren't showing the games that are supposed to be on CNBC, which is where most of Montreal's first round games are being aired. I was told the games have been shifted to local channels. Guess what, idiot cable company - I'm not in the local broadcast area of ANY playoff series. Unbelievable.

The Eastern predictions are now up, 5 of us offered up our pick for who will win between the Habs and Sens (plus the other matchups). http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3073

It's the first playoff game in 9 years for the Leafs and their reward is to draw Chris Lee as one of the refs for Game 1. Somehow that seems fitting.

Scott Gomez is expected to be a healthy scratch for the Sharks in their playoff opener. I hope no one took him in the pool.

I've disliked the Canucks for years, being forced to live here and listen to all the hoo-haw. Yet even I am beginning to feel a bit sorry for this bunch. Luongo has obviously been treated like dirt, but the Sedins are classy players who probably deserve better than what it looks like they're gonna get, and I like Vigneault, who will probably be out on his ass. Oh well.

Apparently Halak is less than thrilled with his role as backup and is making that opinion well known. http://www.ktrs.com/news/local-news/item/8818-ktrs-sports-sources-say-there-are-problems-in-blues-locker-room

Halak, Luongo, Miller and Bryzgalov.

Maybe the NHL can decide to expand this season to find them homes.

Watching the Rangers / Caps and the officiating is incredibly one sided for the rangers. Not a single call against, them despite some blatant penalties. Several of the calls against the Caps were very soft.

So the caps biggest weapon is their PP, and they simply don't get one. Reminds me of the Tampa and Bruins game 7 a few years ago.

It really makes you wonder who is pulling the strings. Are refs really that bad and inconsistent, against one team? Sure seems like they want a ame 7, maybe the Rangers still in it..ie. big market.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but in a league where the boss of discipline had his son playing on a team of thugs, nothing would surprise me. I would in no way be shocked to learn that the refs are being asked to skew results in certain directions.

Meanwhile, can someone explain to me how it is that the Bruins have failed to stomp the Leafs into dust? And no, I do not think the Leafs are a bad team. But Boston has surprised me; I thought they were stronger than that.

Reimer is likely to be the most embarrassing goaltender in the playoffs. He just looks constantly lucky the puck didn't get closer. Zero rebound control.

Well, still feel,that way?

Boston has really struggled with consistency in the second half. They remind me of LA, but they haven't gotten it together.
