Pretty sad offense when us fans best bet to see a scoring chance is when DD comes out for a shift, because his shifts with Gallagher are the only ones where anything is created offensively, other than Gionta and Pleks. We are depending on four midgets for offense. Habs didn't play too bad, but weren't great either, looked like the road team, trying not to lose. I'm not waiting for the refs to give us any breaks, it ain't happenin', need to fight through that sh!t, maybe have a big man go to the net with vigor once in a while, instead of just Gallagher. What a disappointment Eller is lately and has matched his career longest pointless streak at 14 games....C'mon back Galchenyuk and White, and C'mon Olympic break.....

For those who want Buf, it's worth noting that he prefers playing D to forward. So if you're imagining him wreaking havoc in our top-6 you probably shouldn't see that as a stable long-term scenario. He could be used at FW on the PP, though, and deployed on D the rest of the time. If he can plausibly slot in as a 4th defenceman, that could be a tempting idea.

that is exactly how we could use him. it would be great.

Former (disgusting) ref Stephane Auger came up with a GOLD article on RDS.ca concerning this whole incident with Gallagher.

Many quotes are just the proof that the refs call whatever they want whenever they want.

Check this out :

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/canadiens/gallagher-une-victime-vraiment-1.840142

I marked in red what is wrong with the NHL in my opinion...

Auger starts with a recap of a previous sequence with Gallagher vs Stuart where he states that if Gallagher wants to stay on his feet, they he can do it. Cuz Stuart is bigger and stronger. Okay.

Then, the fun begins :

1.

Montoya hits Gallagher twice with his forearm. These actions are illegals and could have been punished. But if you look closely, you can see that the hits are made to the chest and not the face. By swinging his head behind in an exageretad way, Gallagher could also have been punished for embellishing.

2.

This one is GOLD. Gallagher move out from the crease and SOMEONE TRIPS HIM, but again, he falls on the ice like he's just been shot by a canon. Back to the sequence with Stuart, Gallagher is a little pitbull and if he decides to stay up, he can do it. As a referee, you either call 2 minutes for tripping and 2 for embellishing or nothing at all. The refs picked the 2nd option.

And the final nail in the coffin :

3.

When Gallagher exits the offensive zone, he is checked by Trouba and this offense, if it would have been the first one to happen on this sequence, I can guarantee you that a penalty would have been called. But at this point, the fiery Habs forward had already dug his grave.

Now, if a more bilingual writer of HW believes that I mistranslated some of the words, go ahead and edit my post, but I can assure you that this translation is at least about 95% accurate.

Merci, Joe. What a disgusting indictment of the arbitrary and personalized abuse of power by NHL refs - a microcosm of the league's entire sick approach to discipline. Gallagher "embellished," so, y'now, he deserves to get run over by an SUV in the parking lot. Meanwhile guys who inflict repeated blows and commit repeated offences on the same shift are just enforcing "the code," dontch'a know. Just like Pacioretty deserved to get his head literally smashed in for daring to shove Chara after scoring in OT. Keep on blaming the victim, NHL.

That's nearly word for word what Fraser wrote on TSN in his assessment as well.

Well at least we know the problem, the refs have their collective heads inserted in their anuses. The logic that says the victim caused the crime is what we used to need the fighter's for. You touch our guy ,we punch you out. If this is what the NHL wants then let's get rid of all the rules against fighting and go back to the days when if the ref wouldn't or couldn't handle the game, the players did it. The spewing of this garbage really pisses me off. Have none of these idiots heard of being professional? You don't call a game based on your personal biases, you call a game based on the forking rules. If you can't or won't do that you should get the hell off the ice. We need ref's who are professional.
