Lovett's Magnatones
1-0 halfway through the second on HNIC. Scoring is .10 goals per game more than pre-lockout and fighting is almost extinct. #worsethandeadpuck

It's honestly a tossup between wanting to see this powerplay try and set up, or seeing Therrien relieve a days worth of sugar-free gummi bear induced diarrhea at center ice. Trizzak
Beaulieu gets a 10 minute misconduct, Weber goes to the dressing room after getting hit by the puck... potentially down to 4 D until 5 minutes into the 3rd (I think). Petry joins the rush and scores on a beautiful tip-in
sbhatt
AGAIN Gallagher out there sucking it up on the powerplay. Good god I actually hope he gets hurt at this point, because clearly Therrien is too stupid to see how Fing useless he is!!!

If this keeps up, Therrien is going to have to reduce his icetime..or maybe even healthy scratch him to wake him up. They're basically carrying a skeleton roster - they won't be in a spot to scratch any forward any time soon.

Neech
We did a pretty good job limiting the chances of a potent offensive team. Pleks played a solid game, and Lekhonen is looking like a legit second-liner.
Trizzak
Habs win 2 - 1. Really could use some healthy bodies in this lineup.
dlbalr
Great third period from the Habs to really earn the win. They kept up the pressure (for most of it at least) and really limited Washington's opportunities. They better take some notes from this one as that's how they're going to have to win in the short-term with this many guys out.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Outstanding effort. And quite an entertaining game, with a lot of pace and momentum shifts. Washington is always a good test and an exciting opponent. I was thinking before the game that, whatever the situation up front, at least our D was mostly intact. So of course Weber gets a blast off the knee and then Markov really does get hurt Gallagher is getting to be a psycho-drama out there. It's going beyond a slump and into 'catastrophic' territory. And damn, with the injuries we really NEED him to be the productive sparkplug he's always been. Of all the candidates for a lost season, a la Kovalev in 09, he'd have been just about last on my list. On the plus side, the kids looked good tonight, especially Lehkonen of course. But Carr and McCarron acquitted themselves well.
Neech
This is the kind of game that makes me think we have one of the better coaches in the league with Therrien. The team played together from top to bottom. Petry's been stepping up, but I'm not sure how sustainable that'll be, especially if Markov is out. Trizzak
This was Carey Price's 250th career win, 4th on the Habs to do it, and also puts him in a tie with Johnny Bower and Pekka Rinne for 50th all time. (Bower did it in 552 games, Rinne did it in 471, Price in 470.) Jonathan Quick, Rinne and Price are actually all right there together in a wins to games played ratio. Price is the youngest of the 3. Praise be.

sbhatt
Positives: It was a big gut-check win for the team as a whole, with many stepping up and battling hard to overcome the depleted nature of the line-up. Carey was back to being Carey, living up to his Mr. Saturday Night reputation. McCarron and Lehkonnen really looked good at times, and Rad was his usual beast-mode self protecting the puck and giving Caps Dmen fits along the boards. Jeff Petry was an offensive dynamo, jumping up into the rush and getting shots on net. Negatives: Gallagher was horrible, looking very much like a guy who needs a stint in the pressbox to figure things out...not going to happen due to our injuries, but he hurts the team more than he helps them most shifts by doing nothing well and many things badly. Max and Rad, though they looked good on many shifts, were not able to translate their hard work into ink on the scoresheet. The powerplay was atrocious yet again. Tough stretch coming up as we head into Christmas...and it's tight at the top....they have to keep finding ways to win.

Not really, when you are out skated, outworked, and out goaltended, you usually lose quite often. The only reason the Caps should have won, is because they enjoyed so many PP's. Habs earned the win, Caps deserved to lose.
