Now need to find a team who will give us a goalie in return! Wouldn’t Dauphin, Pezzetta be better trade chips?

More valuable, yes, as they might even have some marginal NHL upside. So, it depends on how valuable a goalie we get in return.

We are likely to have to give up a draft pick for the goalie... baddock is just a contract to throw back so we dont increase our contracts number. So itd be like goalie for baddock and 6th round pick.

With Dea also back and Drouin & Dvorak about to return to the NHL roster Habs are getting closer and closer to having to make a trade... The health of the roster isnt forcing them to make trades. The only pressure point is the deadline. Other than that if we have to wait for an acceptable offer for chiarot or whoever we are dealing at the deadline, wait. No one gets out cheaper cause drouin and brook and dvorak are healthy. Just send people to laval and trois riviere as necessary.
dlbalr
Laval has four players and a staff member in COVID protocol. Wednesday's game has been postponed already and while there are suggestions that others have been postponed, it hasn't happened yet as they're still scheduled to play in Syracuse on Friday. dlbalr
Good to see he's at least close to returning. At least one of Poulin or Primeau are among the players in COVID protocol.

Have no particular hopes for him but he has seemed to be a "good soldier" ... the type of person that every team needs on their AHL team ... whether or not his goaltending keeps him there (AHL not Laval) is another question
dlbalr
Laval is up to 7 players and 2 staff members in COVID protocol but the games this weekend will go on as scheduled. The Rocket will have a minimum-sized skater roster including several recalls from Trois-Rivieres. Six of the players are Kevin Poulin, defencemen Josh Brook and Terrance Amorosa, and forwards Kevin Roy, Gabriel Bourque, and Justin Ducharme. Yeah, he's not an NHL prospect. But he's great for Laval.

dlbalr
Knee swelling for Brook (on the same one that was operated on) has him out of the lineup indefinitely. This isn't good. Laval has signed Olivier Galipeau to another PTO deal to cover for Fairbrother who was injured last night.
tomh009
Are the Habs having bad luck with repeated/persistent injuries to their prospects (Juulsen, Ikonen, Brook) or is this really par for the course?

Juulsen was a puck to the face twice on the same shift.... I have to think that is extremely bad luck. Ikonen/Brook are similar injuries, but Ikonen was not under contract so he was treated in Finland by Doctors affiliated with his Liiga club. Brook was treated in North america... so i think this is more luck than saying there is anything wrong with medical teams. Its not related. alfredoh2009
Not to be confused with the KKurse, please but I have always felt like since they moved from the forum to the bell centre, the Habs have been particularly unlucky it is like if the forum phantom never forgave the Habs for some disrespect
dlbalr
Not doing a GDT for this one since it's the third period but Laval and Lehigh Valley are tied 3-3. Tory Dello is hurt meaning Darien Kleib is making his AHL debut on the third pairing. Corey Schueneman will join up with the team for Saturday's game. alfredoh2009
Do players need to be on the AHL roster at a certain date before the NHL roster expansion deadline for them to be eligible for the AHL playoffs? I vaguely remember there is a rule about this, but I do not remember exactly what it is. Wondering if Poehling, Romanov, Caufield, etc. will be sent down so that they can participate on an eventual AHL cup run
dlbalr
For most players, they need to be on an AHL roster at the NHL Trade Deadline to be eligible (the main exceptions are PTOs and ATOs). After the deadline, anyone recalled counts as one of four non-emergency recalls. So if Caufield, Poehling, and Romanov were papered down to make them playoff-eligible and then recalled, that'd be 3 of 4 recalls burned right there. Maybe Poehling is one but I doubt any of them go down. Caufield will be asked to play at the World Championships.
