Terrific Start. Horrific Ending.

  1. 1. What do you think was the Hab’s biggest issue after their 3-0 lead ?

    • Shift in momentum – they couldn’t regain control
      1
    • Overconfidence – they thought it was too easy
      2
    • Loss of focus – the game slipped away mentally
      6
    • Maturity – they couldn’t handle the pressure of maintaining the lead
      2
    • Too many penalties – giving Toronto chances to capitalize
      5
    • Puck Luck - they got bounces and we didn’t
      1

After a crushing defeat, the Habs need a win to show their resilience, restore their pride, keep the playoff hopes alive and remind everyone of their potential.

Rangers are hot since January 5th as they are 5-0-2 in their last 7 games. Just the perfect timing for another tough matchup on the schedule.

Dobeš in net… let’s hope his strong play and run keep going.

No options that give the credit to the Leafs?  NOT that I ever like to do that, but win or lose sometimes it is the other team not the Habs.

Honestly I did have another option, but I said, #### the Leafs.

It was, “Talent - the Leafs have better high end talent”

But then I thought, as you know…. #### the Leafs. I lost $20.

Because #### the Leafs.

The loss last night was just as much Montreal's fault as it was Toronto's great play.  Montembeault did look a little shaky after the goal late in the 2nd, but the defense really did let him down with the series of breakaways to start the 3rd.  Montreal made mistakes and had one of those games where every mistake was punished.  Toronto made quite a few mistakes too but Montreal just couldn't bury one to change the momentum.  Let's be honest, Montreal really could of had 4 or 5 more goals easily, Woll just came up big on those opportunities.

Even when was 5-3 for Leafs, i thought Habs still might come back.

Expect a win today.

Will it be Beck-Evans-Armia?

Player to watch for point and/or SOG: Mika Zibanejad , F, NYR (at MTL)

The New York Rangers center has points in six of his nine games since the calendar flipped to 2025 (two goals, four assists during span) after he had only four points in 13 games during December. Zibanejad has found chemistry in between wings Will Cuylle and Reilly Smith on the team’s second line, while remaining a focal point on the power play where he ranks second in shot attempts (50) behind only Artemi Panarin (64). Zibanejad has nine points (five goals, four assists) and 19 SOG in his past four games against the Montreal Canadiens. Per NHL EDGE stats, Zibanejad ranks in the League’s 97th percentile in top shot speed (95.78 miles per hour) and 93rd percentile in midrange shots on goal (42). The Canadiens allowed seven unanswered goals after scoring the first three in Saturday’s loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. -- Troy Perlowitz

Poll needs an ALL OF THE ABOVE option.

Woll made 2-3 saves that were simply dumb luck: the stick knob save and the one where Woll spun the puck out the backside, wide.

Penalties were stupid but Habs always have too many penalties.

Young team, over confident, leafs momentum just continued to build,

That loss was probably all of it

Wasn’t good for Dobeš not to have faced a shot for the first 10 minutes. Now with the goal against, I expect him to be solid from here on out as it would have got the blood flowing.

Two bad goals neither Dobes’ fault.

Glad to see Anderson still has his hate on for the Rangers.

Dobes got screwed by dumb bad luck on the first one for sure and the second was a gift opportunity.

I really liked Guhle that period. He made a bunch of great plays.

I have noticed the Slafkovsky forecheck is causing turnovers again. Keep it up buddy

I like fast hockey like this

If I had to add an option it would have been ... "Toronto played better"

Anderson injured 🤬

Looked like something with his knee. Just what we need when his skating is a strength of his.
