Dalhabs
1. Ottawa (still best in the east) 2. Philadelphia (if they resign Gagne and Forsberg plays 60+ games) 3. Tampa Bay (Must have a rebound year) 4. NY Rangers (will be very close between them and Philly) 5. Florida (Jokinen + Bertuzzi can get this team far) 6. Montreal (dont think we are better than this unless our D suprises) 7. Buffalo (will battle with the habs for the 6th spot) 8. Carolina (lost many players from last year and wont be as good) --------------- 9. Boston (5th spot and down to at least 9th spot will be VERY close) Toronto (congratulations for not winning the cup for the 40th straight year!) Chips
1. Montreal ( I'm a habs fan, gotta support the team, the time is now. ) 2. Ottawa ( Not sure, but the guys do play well during the reg. season, playoffs are a diff. story. ) 3. Jersey ( Can't keep a good team with great goaltending out. ) 4. Buffalo ( They want to prove last year was not a fluke. ) 5. Florida ( I like the new addition of Bertuzzi, they are always a tough team to match up against. ) 6. Rangers ( You will have a battle on your hands with the Islanders. ) 7. Islanders ( Surprise team #1, Ted Nolan's back, look out Rangers) 8. Washington ( Surprise team #2, they will build round ovechkin, he won't be denied for too long. ) ---- Carolina ( Your jinxed and lost the chemistry from the playoff win, but could prove me wrong again. ) Pittsburgh ( Could be surprise team #3, time to put all that young chemistry into action. ) Atlanta ( You may squeeze in but will need a bit of luck. ) Philly ( Your hurt, and will not have depth to counter and will fail. ) Tampa ( Your overpaid and have no options but to trade and rebuild. ) Boston ( Nice try but not good enough, need to go back to the drawing board. ) Toronto ( You don't have a prayer in the world that will save you. ) Edited July 17, 2006 by Chips
jetsniper
I can't really predict anything until I see what happens with Buffalo's arbitration. They've already dealt Pyatt, there might be more. Until then, I'll wait.

sakiqc
9. Tampa Bay misses out as Atlanta finally makes it Muwahahah I wish the same for HWL I hope Carolina miss the playoffs. Boston should be near top 8. Zednik will get 80+ pts with Ovechkin, but won't be enough for Caps. Montreal.. tough to predict for your home team, but I say we could finish 1st in the North-East division. OOPS Ottawa are in the N-E too??! Argh It'll be easier (easy is a big word though hehe) to make standings prediction when comes training camp. It's still July and rosters are not set yet (like someone said about Buffalo). For now here's my prediction: Ottawa New Jersey Tampa Bay Montreal Philadelphia Buffalo Boston Atlanta -------- Rangers Toronto bleah Wong Ton Ovechkin Crosby

hankhab
Ottawa Carolina Phil Montreal Buffalo Atlanta Florida NY Rangers I think Rangers and Devils struggle this year, the Devils no longer having adequate talent, the Rangers having over achieved last year. A year of strong goaltending and better scoring moves Habs into leagues upper level this year. TO still sucks.

MAK
1 Carolina 2 Ottawa 3 NYR 4 Atl ( 2nd overall ) they will finish 2nd overall ?!! with what ?? lethonen, hossa and kovalchuck can't do everything. besides, they lost savardand bondra's gone so they lost some scoring talents. they will be better defensively and should make the playoffs but at the 8th position not the second
