I can back that statement. Among my circle of friends, I'd say that about 50% of them despite the trade (including me). 20 % are meh. A good 30% absolutely love the trade. A good chunk of them dislike PK Subban to begin with. They fully agree that he was a distracton and trading him was the thing to do. They put PK in the same category as Chad Ochocinco.

How many other teams are offering Vegas similar things though? They have a large pool to select from and Plekanec at 6 million may not be the most attractive of those options. This type of thing is new to me but it seems as though a lot of fans are looking at it from a Habs-centric point of view.

It sure would be nice to reunite Drouin with his ol' buddy Nathan MacKinnon....

Drouin could be complete dynamite and it won't do shit for our cup chances. We have a God awful d core. We're still relying on a now even older Markov, a Beaulieu who has not displayed offensive creativity and continues to give the weakest giveaways I've seen on our lineup. Weber still will be strong but he has no partner. Hoping go God Petry can find it in himself to become a credible 2. The lack of breakout passes hurt my eyes... maybe drouin can carry it out? Oh and we are banking on danault being great again... otherwise we don't have a two way center to help them. Positives: Gallagher should be better, love Lehkonen, if we keep Radulove... him and Drouin will make hockey exciting to watch. We also have the best goalie in the world... if they take away the trapezoid he can be our breakout pass (We better be getting a wicked two way center or ,preferable a Dman who can move andnpass)

I really don't like the idea of trading Chucky for Brodin. We would get screwed on that one! Minny would have to offer more...but again, i don't want to give up on Chucky...he's only 23.!

I've digged into it.... not a fan of Brodin for Galchenyuk 1 for 1. Brodin doesn't put up offense and he is okay defensively (looks elite beside Ryan Suter... looks just slightly above average without him). Not a fan of that as a 1 for 1 with Chucky. They need to add.

I would love to see Drouin and Galchenyuk play together. In my opinion this is the exact kind of player Galchenyuk needs to play with. Please Please Please keep them both.

It's okay, some people just don't get it. Although it is the internet and anybody can post whatever they want, including myself making a suggestion on how to better the conversation overall as a group. I think you're right about it happening every year though

Oh, I'm with you. It was an idiotic move and will always be an idiotic move, completely, unforgivably dumb. But I'm talking about the francophone fan-base. I don't think French fans are dumb by any means - they know the Subban trade was asinine, and will not suddenly forget about that because Drouin is here. Nevertheless, Drouin is a PR coup and, if he produces, will be an instant fan favourite going forward because he's French. Like I say, it helps staunch the bleeding from a PR standpoint.
