tomh009 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 A nice play by Plekanec. It's shocking that they actually called a Rangers penalty ... Quote
Guest Stogey24 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Big win Briere, showed Weaver exactly where it was going Quote
illWill Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Not a bad road period, generated some chances. Although they are looking for the perfect pass rather than shooting Quote
Toronthab Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 A dangerous period requiring Stoparski's services pretty often, but with signs of offensive spirit and condidence from les boys which augers well... Galchenuk eller and vanek... Look what happened. Ya! You're right! Quote
DON Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Bourque with almost 1/2 of hits for Habs with 3. Good first period. Quote
hab29RETIRED Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Galchenuk eller and vanek... Look what happened. Despite that on the PP there was Pleks-GIonta-Bourque Quote
Lovett's Magnatones Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 The fancy stats are downright ugly, 71% to 29% FF. That being said, the Habs were giving them outside shots, NYR didn't have much sustained pressure, and their power play was a disaster. The announcers mentioned that Tokarski is playing more inside the paint, and it's working out for him. Great road hockey period, but it's not December 15th, this is an elimination game in the Eastern Conference Final. The Habs seem to be catching on to the Rangers transition game, at the expense of some offense. Damned abbreviated PP to start the second. Quote
JCPetit Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Tokarski makes the saves. Sometimes I wonder how he does it, but the results are there. He was probably a big fan of Dominik Hasek. Not a bad role model, even though his style was impossible to duplicate. Quote
Habber Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 5 shots a period in the end is going to equal a loss at the 60 minute mark. Quote
Toronthab Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Oh.. that's nice dump a player into the net. Smart. Quote

Lovett's Magnatones Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 They need to get something going! Quote
Guest Stogey24 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I don't think Hasek really had a style! He did whatever it took to stop the puck ... Tim Thomas won a cup playing like that... as long as it stays out Quote
hab29RETIRED Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 they need to mix up the forward lines. Galchenyuk was the most dangerous guy for the habs in the first period, so naturally, he wasn't on the PP. Vanek-Eller-Galchenyuk really should be given 4 or 5 shifts. Quote
Toronthab Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 They need to get something going! Absolutely. The penalty kill was draining and the close calls unnerving. le Bou saved us with a blocked shot Now ... as you say.. we have to take it to them or get the clubs out. Quote
Toronthab Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 The pathetic passing is really depressing , time after time after time Quote
Habber Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Playing for their playoff lives and they come out with an effort like this. They might as well have lost game 5. Total garbage. they're playing the New York Rangers for god sakes. Soon as the rangers sore this game will be over. Season over...how long will it take to get to this stage in the playoffs again? Quote

Toronthab Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 We need a lucky goal because we ain't earning one. I expected a lot more this game and its all New York. Quote
Habber Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Hey they got 5 shots this period. Can they get 6? Oh Max...you're showing why you're a 4.5 million dollar player and not a 6 million player and why you were a bench warmer for the US. Chara is not out there ...wake the hell up. Some are leaving it all out there but some might as well stayed in Montreal. Quote
