Habs30/31
Gilbert Think Malkin gets dealt this season, especially if Pens struggle out of the gate through the first six or seven weeks? What they could get FOR him would help the team more than he does.

dlbalr
Think Malkin gets dealt this season, especially if Pens struggle out of the gate through the first six or seven weeks? That's a hard contract to move in-season (7 years left including this one at $9.5 M per) as many of the contending teams are near capped out and would have to send a lot of money back. Plus there's a full NTC/NMC to complicate things.
dlbalr
Well, you had to think Pittsburgh was going to come out with more energy in the second and they did. Now it's up to the Habs to counter. They got better as the period went on but will need to pick up where they left off and not start on their heels again. sbhatt
4-0 start...and the Rangers got taken back down to earth tonight by the Jets. Sets the stage nicely for our home opener.
Neech
Solid win, probably our best effort of the young season. Each line produced some chances, and Carey bailed us out when he had to. A couple shaky moments from Beaulieu and Gilbert, but the defense was strong otherwise. The second line got close a couple times, but I keep wanting each of them to just pull the trigger and SHOOT. dlbalr
Nice third period, it was good to see the Habs come out with more intensity in the third and that was the difference tonight. The game ended early enough that I was able to put a 3 Stars piece together: http://www.habsworld.net/2015/10/hw-3-stars-habs-spoil-another-home-opener/
IN THE HEARTS OF MEN
missed the first 2 periods but caught the 3rd which just flew by... 3rd and 4th lines looked good in the final period as did Carey

Commandant
I love that we have three lines that can score. One thing I noticed though... hockey is a funny game. First pens goal.... weise goes to the net to screen on a beaulieu point shot... the shot hits weise, bennett picks up the loose puck goes down the ice and scores. Second pens goal... weise tries to get out to the point to block the shot... he's a little late, the puck hits his stick, flutters on price, and goes in. Weise made the smart play both times... got unlucky both times... and the Pens scored twice. Game winning goal... Weise has Desharnais wide open for the breakaway... makes a terrible pass... DD hunts it down beats the icing, passes to fleischmann and Weise gets an assist on a goal where he screwed up and almost iced the puck.... Funny game... the two things he did right, ended up in the back of the Habs net, the one thing he screwed up, he gets an assist on the game winner.
